Beyond some nice old plaster work, it's just a basic hall. All hard surfaces and the acoustics were not good. Incredibly noisy when you have 100+ people in there. Conversations were impossible without shouting. While the social function was good, I left the hall wearing others' saliva (which I could feel and see as people shouted to communicate) and ears screaming. Facilities were clean and basic. Probably more suited to quieter functions like formal seminars.

Attended a wedding function here recently. The hall is a perfect venue for large family groups. The food and service was 5 star. Lovely wait staff and the food showcased local NZ products to people who were visiting from other countries.
