I have never met a person with more knowledge of movies, directors or the art of cinema than owner Richard Swainson. This amazing business is a true jewel in Hamilton's crown. With a MASSIVE selection of films on DVD, extensive cinematic works compiled alphabetically by noted directors, rare and hard to find films, and an ever growing Blu-Ray collection, Auteur House is THE place to go for true lovers of movies from all over the world!! Coupled with amazing service I've got to give it two thumbs, way up!!

What a blast from the past! Such a cool hole-in-the-wall place!! I really reccommend checking it out. They have such a wide selection of movies and the guy there is very nice! :)

I seriously doubt anyone leaves this, palace of the moving picture, empty handed. Well loved favorites from your childhood? Check. That obscure but feted Japanese masterpiece you once read about? Check. Mind expanding drama or cotton candy indulgence, they've got it. If you love film, no matter what the reason is, do yourself a favour and pay them a visit.

If you want to go old school and borrow DVD movies, this is the place to go, especially older vintage movies.The owner is extremely knowledgeable on all things movies.Just be aware that to get the store, you need to be able to climb a flight of stairs. :)

It's like stepping back in time. So many dvds to choose from! Looking forward to taking my son here! Hes 18 but still remembers the times we used to frequent our local store. Very happy to have found this store., I've already taken a work colleague here and she was stoked about it too. Long may you be in business!!!

The only place you'll find a video library in Hamilton (or anywhere else as far as I know) - and they've got a huge selection of titles. Loved it.

For many years I've been meaning to visit Auteur House, and on Tuesday I did for another reason. First impression was 'this looks like my kind of place Got talking and Ronald Dahl came up in the conversation and I finished up taking home a DVD called The Best Offer - The ending was completely surprising"
