Escape Campervan Rentals Auckland

Thank you so much to Escape Rentals for the awesome van and amazing experience !Picked up from Auckland and dropped off to Christchurch. Cruised around for 3 weeks. Both the Auckland lady and Christchurch guy were so awesome and nice. Made the process super easy. Shout out to the guy at Christchurch for gifting us an Umbrella for us to use as we had to walk to our next destination in the rain. We donated it onto a local church as we could not take it back with us to Aus.Love the idea of donating on food or goodies you had left over to the donation cupboard for the next group when they pickup a van. Super cute. (If you are hiring one definitely have a look and see if you can snag anything! We got noodles and bog roll lol)Had no faults with the van at all, was an absolute trooper all the way down North Island to a total circle around South, and i loved waving to other Escape Travellers while we cruised around. My only regret was i wish i took more photos of the van! Cant wait to visit again, ill be hiring another van for sure :)

We had an amazing experience with our escape camper Van and can recommend escape Campervans for everyone wanting to explore new zealand. Even though we had some difficulties during our trip, the escape team was always very friendly and helpful ! The creative designs of the Vans makes them very special and the interior is also very comfortable and clean.

Renting a van from Escape was the perfect choice for us. Everything from making the booking to picking up the van to the actual vanlife experience was a breeze and a complete success!We rented a van for 69 days, and it had everything we needed for our vanlife adventure (comfortable bed, small kitchen with cutlery, dishes and utensils, portable toilet, a convertable interior, etc.). Driving the van was very easy, though being an old model it was a bit slow/heavy uphill, however it did not matter to us due to the winding roads of New Zealand making the driving slow anyways.Insurance wise we chose the C tier (highly recommended). During our travels, a window got a crack and we had it fixed. The communication with Escape about the incidence went smoothly, and we got it fixed at a local place without issues.For camping and finding places to park for the night, we chose to go with non-powered sites, and it worked wonders.In summary, we would recommend choosing Escape anytime!

We rented a van from escape for 3 weeks, driving and camping was very comfortable. The team is great, you always get quick and friendly support (the first van was exchanged without any problems because the indicator light on the back door didn't work). Returning was also quick and uncomplicated, we can highly recommended it booking an escape camper van.

We rented a self contained escape camper van for almost one month. Before we were worried that it might get too cold when we do freedom camping. But it turned out that the blankets provided were nice and warm, enough for the beginning of winter on the north Island.The interior was basic but for our first van life good (and cheaper than others). Also the company tries to improve the interior all the time (they also asked us after returning the van what they could improve). The car, we had the Bowling van, was nicely painted and we got some compliments on the way. It was also strong, so we had no problems when the ways got steeper.Sometimes I would have wished that the kitchen was inside but in the end we were the ones on the nice camping spots who enjoyed the nature the most while cooking or eating outside (when all the other people stayed inside their big camper).The employees in Auckland were very friendly and helpful.

Our van called Purple Monarch was amazing! We have loved the trip so much. Van was reliable, comfortable and fun (way cooler than other companies). ECR staff provided a very good service and responsive when we needed to contact them. Definitely would recommend. Dropping off the Purple Monarch was sad (first pic). Never stop exploring!

We rented our van for a 12 week trip around the North and South Islands, and it was absolutely fab! Our van was lovely, good amount of storage, comes with everything you need (stove/pans/duvets/pillows etc) and the bed was really comfy as well.The escape team where really helpful when we needed to speak to them as well, we had an issue with our sink blocking whilst on the road but popped into the Christchurch branch and got it all sort in 10 minutes, super helpful!The van was really easy to drive, we drove 15,000km and no issues, self-contained so we could stay at a lot of free camping spots to keep costs down as well, Escape where one of the cheapest companies we looked at but I think one of the best small van companies you could go for! Would definitely recommend and will use them again if we are back in New Zealand, we were really sad to give the van back!

We rented an escape van for 6 weeks from August to October and we absolutely loved it! We first got it from Christchurch and dropped it off in Auckland. As we arrived at the end of winter it was a bit cold but in the van, we were absolutely fine! We found to have a good amount of storage and the bed was extremely comfy and cosy. The kitchen had everything you needed and the van was easy to use. We dropped it off in Auckland and the staff were so nice and accommodating. We picked Escape rentals because it was cheaper than other competitors and were so glad we did because you get everything you need and it was the perfect size for 2 people. We had no troubles at all with the van and absolutely loved the paintwork. Also it was really nice when you see another escape van and you feel part of a community. Would highly recommend these and would absolutely rebook with them!

We really enjoyed traveling with “Escape Campervan”. Pick-up as well as Drop-Off went easy and fast. Our van, which was named Freaky Frogs, was safe and reliable. It offers everything you need for an enjoyable camping trip in New Zealand. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen easy to operate - even when it rains you do not get wet. It’s been amazing 28 days!
