The country music playing was epic. There food and service, not so much. The free WiFi and toilets were not working, and the food was overly expensive. An experience for sure, though could not recommend. The country music playing was very cool and classic.

Friendly staff, excellent toilet facilities, spacious for a stretch after a few hours drive. Most importantly, the coffee is good, and the ice cream makes kids happy.

We found Tarawera cafe to be overpriced and mediocre, typical of places where there is no competition. I'd suggest stopping at Napier or Taupo instead. Also, charging $1.50 for a credit card transaction which costs only a few cents to process - on top of their already high prices - further contributes to my one-star rating.

Quick stop on my way to Napier but ended up looking for a meal. Better try for their pies, love the steak pies. The surrounding view is beautiful

Closed on late Thurs afternoon, but open on Sat morning when we came back. Good food, some of it probably made locally and others bought in. Good coffee, but coffee is never helped by being made on a takeaway cup. Time I started keeping a real coffee mug in the car, given the number of cafes that only offer takeaway cups.

Cute spot just off the mountain road - try a flat white or an apple tart - piping hot. The wood burning stove was nice on a raining day.As a USA citizen, I loved the shop woman calling me “Lovey”.

A handy place to stop en route to Napier or from. Plenty of parking and a warm fire if on your bike as we were once. Stopped there with BOP Mustang once.

Loved the lemon cakes!!! Also very friendly staff. We were quite happy to come across this Café on our way from Rotorua to Napier it was a much needed break. Coffee is good too.

I found this place for CamperMate because it's a free camping. When I arrived around 18, the owner allowed to put my tent. He was really kind.In the morning, I took a good cafe and a sausage roll.I recommend this place If you are going through it
