Starship Children's Hospital

4 stars purely for nurses and doctors who were nice and friendly. However one receptionist was flat out rude. When asked where in the line its a simple estimate. We deserve to know

First time for me to stay at this hospital and im really happy,from the bottom of my heart I like to said a big thank you to the team,the nurses are so friendly and kindness.The doctors are doing a great job.Thank you so much for helping my 2years old son for his sickness

Had such a poor experience in this hospital, walked in with my 4 year old who has developed bad skin rashes all over his body with high fever and itchiness- waited for 3 hours without seen by any doctor. Seeing other patients who came after us all seen by doctors. Checked with reception and other nurses- they said doctor being assigned to your son and he will be seen soon. After a long wait- again asked the reception about the wait- head nurse said ur son has already been seen by a doctor and is discharged as per system. Such a poor system and management.

Staying at this hospital for a couple weeks was not as bad as it would sound. The nurses were so friendly, and always gave my mother and I updates when asked. The wait for the emergency room was a little bit long, but overall the staff there ensured my full recovery.

Been there last week as people said it is way better than Waitakere. Let me be straight: there are more patients at Starship and the treatment was slightly better. If you are living close by, come here

Had to wait for few hours (typical in AKL now for walkins) but the staff is extremely nice, gave goodies for my kid and it was a pleasant experience. Thanks Starships!!!

The staff at Starship were so kind and helpful. The help staff were especially supportive with helping my daughter and I. They all deserve a medal or two.

The nurse and the doctor we saw were lovely. The children emergency waiting room that we spent 2hrs in was pretty depressing - no pictures, no music, no TV - just a cold sad room. I was asked to keep my 2 year old on one side of the waiting room as there were patients with Covid symptoms on the other side - not an easy task with a toddler in a small open space. The receptionist and staff that did the initial screening outside were a bit grumpy. I expected the staff at children hospital would try to lighten the mood and make the situation easier for both parents and kids but they did the opposite. Covid rules might be putting extra pressure on the staff but same applies to most of us and we still need to do our jobs well . When parents come with their children to ED they are usually under a fair amount of stress/worry so it would be great if the staff support them through this rough time. I was very disappointed with the lack of support we received.
