Barnardos Auckland North and West

I've unfortunately lost confidence in this group, as well as other social welfare groups also, their dealings with us was backhanded & shady, resulting in a large sum of back pay benefit being paid out to a young person associated to us & causing a huge amount of difficulties for the family who've had to deal with him while he runs wild. He is doing a lot of drugs, alcohol, etc. This organization knew/know this, and that all of this is underage and being supplied & endorsed by the so called 'half way house' he is staying in. What a system.Cut a long story short, we/family members were led to believe work was being done with him by this organization. Cut a long story even shorter, after our support for an apparent plan in place, this young man received a huge payout we all disagreed to on the terms it was paid out to him on, believing it would be distributed to him tactfully (youth benefit) within 48 hours, almost $2000 was spent up and he'd blew it all on getting superjuiced and stoned. Barnardos knew this.Barnardos, then advised us that they are no longer working with him when questioned why he received the payout the way that he did contrary to the plan that was agreed too.All they were concerned was with getting him paid out, and on the benefit. Effectively lying to us the family.If this is the kind of work these groups are doing, and this is the kind of attitude they are pushing on young people, it is no wonder young people these days are so lost.Extremely disappointing to say the least, and feel very let down, the whole family does, while I am sure they do outstanding work here and there as individuals specific, it is sad to know that this is the kind of conduct going on behind the scenes.They have effectively enabled this young person to carry on doing what he is doing, and got their tick in the box, case closed, no longer have to deal with him.Crazy, very sad, didn't help at all, back to square one.
