Used a voucher bought online and had to have a debate with hair dresser as to what was on the voucher when it clearly stated what was paid for and then they charged extra for dying because of length of my hair and very poor service extremely rough with brushing and removal of excess toner and dye. Armature foiling and inconsistent cutting to the point where my fringe and sides are very uneven lengths. I would not recommend using this place as there are much more professional salons around.

Honestly after ringing them trying to sort it out with them no response or frikken care in the world which only angers me and I’m still going to deal with the manager and I’m coming into the store after Xmas ! Nobody has rung me or checked up as they said on the phone , I’ve had a reaction on my face from the black dye as you didn’t wipe the excess off and it felt like it was burning I’ve had to now use ointment and went to doctors after 24 hours of getting it done. I’m never ever going to kess hair again this isn’t the first bad experience either like during my experience was good I won’t say it was bad but it was the after effect. Too much acres on my face tried to scrub it off but was stinging so stopped. And now it’s marked my face.I want a full refund if I could sue in Nz I so would !!

Had an amazing experience here. I love my hair colour and also had eyelash lift and brows done by Lola which came exactly as I wanted. Both the girls were so nice and friendly, I'll definitely be recommending Kess!

I should have checked the reviews before going…Carelessly overlapped the bleach and fried my hair off. Thank goodness it was only in one spot.Sent an email about this on the 26th April (nearly 2 weeks ago) and no response.Cannot be fixed obviously, so expected a refund

Had one of the best hair care experiences with the wonderful Lara and her co-worker! They had my dark DARK brown roots vanish! and toned the rest of my hair together SO nicely! They explained the options, processes and costs, and let me know what products they were using throughout and also what aftercare products would be best, given the condition of my hair. I am SO impressed with Lara and her co-worker and think they both deserve heavy raises! ;) Most under rated - easy to access - affordable - hairdressers in Christchurch! Colour experts! Thank you so much! <3

I booked this salon for a wash and blow wave before attending a wedding later in the day. Due to a misunderstanding on my part, I didn’t realize the service I booked didn’t include styling my hair for the wedding, but the person who I spoke to when I arrived said she could style my hair.Keep in mind the owner apologized and said they’d send me a PayPal refund - over a week ago, I haven’t received anything and they stopped replying to my messages.Here’s what I sent to their Facebook messenger:Good day. I came in yesterday for a wash, blow wave, and style at 9 am. My hair stylist unexpectedly did not show up for work. Instead, a woman who told me she is not a hair stylist began washing my hair while we waited for the stylist. While washing my hair, she and the other hair stylist on the floor were speaking badly about the person who didn’t show up for work. After the wash, the lady sat me at a station and began blow drying my hair. I have had my hair done countless times and it was clear that this woman was trying her best, but was unsure and untrained.While I am in the chair, she has to ask for help from the hair stylist who has a client next to me, and all the while they are talking badly about their coworker.When it comes to styling my hair, this woman again tried but had no idea how to curl my hair. By this point I had been in the salon for about two hours. I had to try to help the woman, teaching her how curls should look, and she kept having to ask for help from the hair stylist next to us.I left after she put about 6 curls in my hair which was taking an extraordinary amount of time. I had to do my own hair for the wedding, and I was charged $58 for this service.I would like to request a full refund. The woman who serviced me tried her best but admitted to me she is not a hair stylist. I paid $58 for a HAIR STYLIST to wash and blow wave my hair and I did not receive that standard of service.I needed my hair done to attend a wedding that I travelled across the world to attend. Instead, I left the salon after 2.5h and threw my hair in a bun for the wedding. I’m incredibly disappointed and shocked I had to pay for these services.

Had a great experience getting a fresh cut, colour, and treatment. Ruby was extremely helpful and honest during the consultation and did an amazing job of considering what would work for my hair's condition and styling considerations. Really enjoyed being pampered.

I'd pay money on the idea that the person cutting my hair has no proper training at all. I could have messed my hair up in 1/10th of the time it took him to mess it up. After seeing the place had no customers, I went in for a quick trim with layering on top. After he brushed" my hair (from the top down) and pulled out the scissors to start cutting already

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Absolutely horrid experience. Booked online the night before the appointment, cancelled online a few hours after booking because I realised I won't be able to make it. No contact was made by the salon. Now I have been charged for a service that was cancelled within a few hours of booking and that I did not receive. Note - the booking and cancellation were done overnight so would not have affected their staffing arrangements or planning for that day. Absolutely disgusting.
