What an amazing little find. The remains of an old gold mining village with plenty of architecture still left behind. There are signs leading you to a car park, just follow those. Beware of unmarked mine shafts.

There are some private roads with restricted access. So had to turn around to avoid those. Finally made it to the carpark which is about 1km further than what Google maps says. The road is mostly gravel and sand track but you don't need a 4WD.

Great walk around abandoned mining town. Good views over to Pisa range. There is a carpark up the top of road.

Another gem just off a main road and you don't have to hike miles to see it. You can drive all the way to the Welshtown carpark and choose to walk the track to see more of the old relics. Great views of the range from up there too.

If you are interested in history come up to Welshtown there are some lovely walks and the old stone buildings and gold mines are easily accessible there are plenty of parking and walking trails.

What a random little place. Dirt road to get there. Couple of ruins here and there, and definitely interesting, but nothing to write home about.However, the surrounding area begs you to make your own adventure and go exploring. Definitely worth the detour.

Difficult to find. Needs better signage. Well worth the effort. There was a signpost on the main road south of Tarras, but after a km or so we came to a junction. Straight ahead was closed. Do we go right or left? No signs though. We wandered several km along the right hand fork and ended up back at the highway. We went back and took the left fork. Eventually we saw a sign a lot further in. It was well worth it.
