Went for a wedding they didnt even have drinks sorted for the toast food was gd bar closed way earlyer then we were told over all wouldnt recommend

Family friendly environment. Has a wood burner for those colder nights. Kitchen open Thursday to Sunday and does takeaways. Relaxing and reasonably priced.

Great staff, and good. Decor tad dated but the have been rough times for hospo industry.

Unfortunately I was among a group of 19 people that had a booking at the MCC last Saturday night. Firstly one person behind the bar had no idea of what he was supposed to be doing or how to use the cash register. Even unable to make a lime, bitters and soda water!! When a keg needed changing he was also unable to do that!!. Our meals which were quite nice took a very long time to be served as they did not seem to have a system in place to ensure that all diners were served in a timely manner. The restaurant was very busy and when we arrived initially there were not enough seats/table to accommodate all of us. I don't think any of us will be going back soon which is very sad as we were trying to support our local businesses.

We ( my wife and I) very much pleased with our stay at the Makarewa club, we parked our caravan there when we were staying in Invercargill and found the staff very friendly and most helpful, and the meals were just to good to explain, they were large, and cheap and very well cooked, a great place to stay, drink, and eat. well done to all the staff. We had private function, good meal, music thhat was played wasnt allow to be loud which i didnt understand considering its concrete block & separate from public bar which only had 4 people in it invluding the barperson also told to leave an hour earlier than finish time

Stayed in motorhome overnight. Enjoyed a couple of drinks and blue cod meal in Club. Very enjoyable and meals great. Thanks.

Nice friendly place with different areas for dining, bar, pool. Fire was on but still a bit nippy...
