OK so the big chill is a nice low-key bar/bistro the staff here wonderful and polite I would recommend for a night out for 2 or book out the whole venue enjoy.

Sadly, my review for when Tamaho took over below, is no longer applicable as his team have moved on. The place is back to a filthy cesspit of smelly leaking toilets with wet floors and broken kicked in doors. The accessibility toilet is always out of order and leaking. I'm really surprised that the council issues a licence to operate. All the nice furniture is gone, the windows are so dirty you can't see out and the music is often so loud during the day, you can't hold a conversation! Sad .... really sad to watch it go right back to the way it was, even with some good friendly staff still in place. But what can they do when the owner is only focused on the pokies? At least the food is still very nice.Tamaho and his team have done a lot over the past few months to prove what a difference a professional management team can make to a long standing venue that was allowed to slide. The food has seen a massive improvement and there is now a good choice of well priced beers and wine.This, combined with excellent friendly staff and you know that they are well on the way to turning the Chill around from what could only previously be described as a cold, dirty, abysmal dive - into what is now a warm and inviting place in which to relax over a few beers or well priced meal.Their vision is indeed working

Don't go there if you want a decent pub lunch there is a very limited selection of bar food , the usual chips, nuggets or fish bites. Good to see they do jugs of beer. The bar lady was professional and got on well with other patrons . I stopped in for a quick pub lunch so a bit let down on food options.

My friends and i really enjoy this bar/restaurant. The team behind the counter are really friendly. Prices are reasonable the song choices are superb it gives the place a sort of retro vibe which I like very much. Highly recommend you check this place out for yourself.. 5 stars

The food was good, however, the music was so loud it felt like a live concert which made chatting rather difficult. The group felt as though the hostess was preoccupied and serving us was a bit of a bother.Otherwise, it is a nice place.

Pub crowd ok, an extensive amount of beers on tap and in the cooler. The only shortcoming was the limited menu. These were deep fried snacks. Not bad but I would've like something more extensive.

Pretty odd pub in Hutt City, looks nicer from the outside to be honest. Sells your standard Kiwi beers, has pokies and even food. If you just want a basic pub it does the job, but not a place to take a girl on a date...
