The receptionist is rude and disrespectful always has an attitude I hate ringing the centre and does not know how to do a job properly.

I left Torbay Medical 6 years ago because I no longer wanted to be just another name on a computer and went looking for a family doctor that took the same care and attention for his patients that was the norm 20+ years ago. Thankfully I discovered Andrew Murley and his team at Waiake Medical ..... and I could not ask for better. I would recommend them to anyone and am more than happy to do so. I cannot imagine why a couple of people would chose to give them a poor review, all I can do is to assume they were agreived anti-vaxers that thought they knew better.

So impersonal and patronizing. Second time I have had to leave them. First time pre covid was when Dr Paltridge (Amazing doctor) took a break , when I found out he was back I re-enrolled immediately. He has now recently taken leave again and have had two bad experiences since then. 1 not being able to get my 6 year old in for 4 days and being told to got to A & E and a shocker of a follow up or non existent follow up for myself and the can't do anything and not sure what else we can do attitude when I questioned it. Easier to just ignore it, it's nearly Christmas and practice closing for the year. Remember why I chose to leave the first time. Have now enrolled elsewhere again. So disappointing

Dr Andrew Murley is by far, the best Dr I have every been to.When I worked in a large team, I sent out an email to around 300 staff, asking for new GP recommendations.Andrew came back 3 recommendations and was the only Dr to have more than 1 recommendation.Andrew has an amazing authentic, and fully engaged way of doing his consults. He takes the time needed, he is super thorough and very, very perceptive.I had one diagnosis about 13 years ago, which was a very serious disease, very rare, and he was the one who had picked it up. I went to the Labtest at the time, and the Phlebotomist was going to call the GP back, as requesting such rare diseases seemed very unlikely so was probably a mistake. When she saw it was Andrew she immediately knew him, and apologized to me, with the explanation that if Dr Murley was asking for a test, it will be very, very likely that it is the correct test to ask for. He was absolutely correct, and I did have Legionnaires disease.I have also had 3 separate Pharmacists comment that he was very highly regarded in the medical community - from different Chemists, and at different times.About 10 years I moved away from Waiake medical, and I have had 6 extremely serious medical conditions undiagnosed after I had left him. They were rude, sloppy and missed so many obvious symptoms that I spelled out to them.I am back with him, again and we have all those issues identified, referred and I'm getting fixed. The nursing staff are amazing, Reception is efficient, and thorough and follow items up well.

Sadly the practice seems not to care after their return from their new year break - failing to book appointments properly, not listening to a patient's medical issues and hanging up on a patient, rather than discussing concerns raised. Really disappointing given how great they were.

I was feeling very unwell over the weekend, my regular GP at a different Med Centre had retired. WMC were able to squeeze me in for a booking same day, even though one GP short and hugely under the pump. I saw Dr Murley and even though having to consult people in their cars, he showed great care under what must be really trying circumstances. I found everyone to be very helpful, even a call back the next day from Dr Murley. I don't think that has ever happened to me. I'll be enrolling them as my new GP's.
