Student Horizons - Overseas School Tours Specialist

Covid is sorting out the men from the boys. Almost everyone in business is trying to act in good faith and behave decently, but not the owner of Student Horizons. Student Horizons has instead been happy to take money from schoolchildren and their parents but say 'we don't actually have to pay this back'. The Australian owner is refusing to take personal responsibility. Yet other people in NZ owned travel businesses are issuing full refunds because they believe they have a moral obligation to do so - and they stand behind their businesses. Student Horizons, your customers are high school kids. Please, show some integrity and pay back their money. You have dashed a lot of dreams for a great many young people.

Student Horizons stepped up at short notice and took over the planning and implementation of our tour to the USA in 2015 after our original provider dropped the ball one to many times.Without Student Horizons help 32 boys would have missed out on a once in a lifetime experience. They worked tirelessly to make sure that every part (on-field and off-field) of our tour went smoothly.Jamie and team at Student Horizons put in the effort and went over and above to ensure that the boys and families got great value for money and an experience that will last a lifetime for them. They were incredibly professional in their approach to our tour. Thanks!!

I had the pleasure of going on a trip to Fiji with Student Horizons. There service was 2nd to none but the big thing for me was their commitment to health and safety. After 25 years working with schools and sport teams I have never seen a organisation that is so committed to making sure young people are safe and looked after when they go overseas. Jamie and his team are fabulous to deal with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking at taking young people away.

Where do I start? I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Be very careful when dealing with this company. Jamie is only offering us a 15% refund for a trip that had to be cancelled due to Covid 19. His communication skills are close to zero. We hardly heard anything from him!He is not transparent where our money has actually gone? He won't give us a clear indication of what's been paid or if anything actually has been paid for?He sends his workers to meet with the families that are involved. He deletes comments on the student Horizons page of how we really feel then blocks you from commenting. when he can't handle the emails, he sends emails to the school you're with to say that he will no longer communicate with you and you have to talk via the school you're with!He posting the lump sum amounts of refunds to make it look like people are getting a fair deal. But we're not! We should be getting full refunds with admmin fees taken off the top! So many kids have lost thousands of hard earned cash. It's not right. He should take responsibility!

Student Horizons took myself & my Rangitoto College Rugby team on tour to Sydney, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Jamie Wansey and his team planned the trip to every detail, including a wide range of activities outside of just playing rugby. Jamie and the team at Student Horizons provide an unmatched service, not only would I highly recommend any school or student to go on a trip with Student Horizons, but I also know Jamie will do everything he can to make your experience as incredible as mine. For lifelong memories, this trip was worth every cent and more! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Student Horizons organised our football tour to the UK and Spain, taking 29 boys. The organisation and planning right from the start was outstanding, the communication top class, on ground support was brilliant, and the tour went very smoothly. This was an experience of a lifetime for the young men (and for the parents who joined the tour!!). Cannot recommend Jamie and the Student Horizons team more highly.

Great experience with student horizons! The way they organised our trip and demonstrated leadership was great for our school rugby trip! All the boys and staff loved it. We travelled Brisbane for a rugby trip and they didnt step a foot wrong! Absolutely amazing 10/10 would recommend for future trips!

My child SUFFERED A LOSS OF $2,391.48 after booking a trip with Student Horizons that did not proceed in April 2020 due to Covid-19. Company has continuously failed to provide information around what hasn't been refunded and while happily pushing other companies to provide refunds has made no effort to provide a refund from themselves for the money they kept (supposedly used it to pay their rent and power etc and supposedly now have no money to pay it back). Worst experience I have ever had with a travel company - would not use again!!!!

Unfortunately millions of dollars have been unaccounted for. There is a lack of transparency. They can offer little or no explanation as to what exactly they have paid for with student designated funds for overseas travel. Such a shame really. They shut down from their website genuine feedback and will only post feedback that suits them. A poor show. I was unable to attend the meeting scheduled by Student Horizons due to the very short notice that they gave the school. Many parents were also unable to attend. From the meeting it was ascertained that Jamies crew had gobbled up half of our money in admin fees". They then went onto say that the company was in a "growth mode" which got me thinking that the money we paid probably went into new office space. Then to cap it off the company including Jamie could not account for $1
