Sumner Re Treat

Our family of three loved our stay. It was the perfect place to start our New Zealand trip. Chris was lovely and helpful, the apartment squeaky clean, comfortable and all the amenities modern. The beach is only a few minutes walk away and the local shops as well. I strongly recommend staying at Sumner Re Treat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the apartment was perfect for our needs. Great location, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Hot tub on the roof was wonderful after a days cycling. Having a washing machine was great for those like us that were half way through a trip around New Zealand.

We booked our stay here as we were trying to get through the floods of Canterbury and it was a last minute booking after hearing on the radio to stay away from the centre of Chch. Had never been to Sumner so thought let's give it a go and luckily Chris had this available.After 6 hours of driving through floods and rain, it was so calming and peaceful to walk into Sumner Re Treat - so aptly named <3The Studio is just gorgeous and a wonderful use of space - it's not often that a studio has a separate bedroom from the kitchen - which is a full kitchen including an oven and a full size fridge and freezer so if you're like me and limited to eating out options due to allergies, heaps of space for for self-catering! :-)Well thought out, beautiful decor and conveniently on the same level as the pool and spa.Garage is well organised for parking large vehicles too.Chris is lovely and was very accommodating considering how late we arrived - she's an Angel!

I love staying at the sumner Re Treat! Chris the owner is always lovely to deal with and all the rooms have beautiful decor and great style. I have always found the apartments lovely and warm with comfortable beds. Great location with plenty of parking and great eateries within walking distance! not to Mention the beach is right there!. whether you are staying for a holiday or work this place is always a real Re Treat "I highly recommend !!!. Sumner is a great little town to visit! and this place is right in the heart of it!"

This property is a very nice large apartment within walking distance of Sumner beach. There is also a small swimming pool and spa on the roof.We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to have stayed longer.This will definitely be our go to if we come back again.Thanks Chris for all your help!

We have stayed in Sumner Re Treat for a few times in the last couple of years and we highly rate the facilities, Chris herself is a great host as well. Always delightful experience, clean room and awesome location plus all the town centre/beach offerings. (2 min walk to the beach)I have always advocated for CHCH holiday makers to try out a night in this close neighbour as people tend to miss the best part of Sumner, which is sunset and sunrise, super quiet and amazing ocean waves, but 99% visitors only stay during the day however miss these. Absolutely recommended to other visitors.

We recently spent 2 days at the Sumner Re Treat Luxury Apartments and a luxury apartment it is. We had a most enjoyable stay. There is a rooftop jacuzzi and pool (the pool was closed for winter). The apartment is well appointed in every way and the only criticism we had was the bedding linen needs to be updated including pillows. Other luxurious apartments have quality white linen. Other than that, we would highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this luxurious apartment. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very spacious and tastefully decorated. It's well equipped and have extras such as air-conditioning and light sensors. The rooftop pool andspa was great .

After a 9 hour flight and a night stay in Auckland, we were pleasantly surprised at our accommodations at Sumner Re Treat. We were greeted by Chris and she escorted us to our room. It was not only spotless, but very attractively decorated. Our accommodations came with all the necessary amenities, the decor was contemporary, and the location was excellent. There were numerous eateries within walking distance. Best of all, it was a short walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend Sumner Retreat if you plan on visiting Christchurch and want to get away from the City Centre.

Lovely place to stay. I stayed in the studio apartment, much bigger than I expected, full kitchen, highly recommend it for one or two, had everything. Warm, clean, modern, very comfy bed and great views from the spa pool on the roof. Will definitely stay again.
