Terrible. I was advised the wait for hot food would be around half an hour. My party changed our order to items from the cabinet as we wanted to quickly eat and leave. Rather than put our cabinet food on plates and give it to us over the counter, we were given a table number and told to wait for it to be brought over. From the table we watched the cafe being run chaotically and ended up having to wait about 45 minutes before our food was placed on plates and carried over to our table.

I've been there twice, and twice, I've walked out. The first time, I wanted an omelette with cheese, ham and tomato, the person behind the counter told me they didnt have tomatoes, so I left. The next time, I wanted an all day breakfast, the woman behind the counter, sighed, and told me, I can do it

visited in a busy time. I wanted to have here, but it was almost time to go, so I had no choice to change it to take away. It's a pity that I used disposable cup, but it's a lovely place and nice coffee.

We so enjoyed this sweet local coffee shop. We were in town visiting for an extended stay and enjoyed starting many days here. Owner is so kind and personal and we always enjoyed our drinks and treats… and our daughter loved the fluffys which we don’t get in the states. It was a fun treat. We highly recommend this spot for your coffee or a quick breakfast. The savory scones and Eggs Benedict were lovely too. Highly recommend.

I loved the great gluten free slices, special mention to the raspberry chocolate slice. The veg frittata was also very good, and the person working there was so lovely and helpful

Probably the worst cafe I’ve ever been too. Had a terrible experience. Had to send back my partners mango smoothie because it tasted like funny milk in a runny consistency. Then our food took 25 minutes to come out. Ordered vanilla waffles and came to the realisation that for their “home style vanilla waffles” they had sent someone to the store to get sugary chocolate chip waffles from the SUPERMARKET! As well as having a run down building and being understaffed on a public holiday their food was not any better. Do not recommend.

We came here for an early morning coffee and scone, staff were friendly and happy to open up when we arrived a few minutes before opening. The frittata was a touch expensive, but it was delicious and filled me up. Coffee was good, perfect temperature, your classic cafe coffee. I will be back here in the future, thanks The Roost!

This is only one coffee shop opened in the early Sunday morning near Brydone Hotel. We want to try something different and apparently it was a good choice. Benedict egg muffin is nice and my daughter was happy for her free fluffy and cake
