Good views, great service and quick, good food, poor wine list, tap beer selection looked good, fantastic live music the day I was there, pricing is about right, good ambience, great bathrooms, friendly staff and very welcoming of feedback, keen to give you a good experience, unexciting menu.I chose Shoreward after checking out several options along the Orewa waterfront and happy for it. Main gripe was the woeful wine list with zero quality whites to match the seafood. After choosing the only Hawkes Bay" Chardonnay from the list

Great food. The GF pizza was greatThe alcoholic slushies were amazingLovely views across the road to the beach. Good atmosphere and has a big screen tv that was showing the Sail GP.Was understaffed. No cold water due to none of the glasses being washed due to only 1- 2 people on the bar.

Ordered prawns with chilli and coriander. Came out drenched in what tasted and looked like Trident Sweet Chilli Sauce from Countdown. Pickled cabbage was just dry, raw shredded cabbage, yuck. Partner ordered chicken burger. They bought out chicken wings instead, then made us feel like we ordered the wrong thing and asked if we still wanted the burger." Stay clear

Shoreward is a beautiful spot right on the beachfront, seating with reserve and ocean views outside and the menu had plenty of options to suit all. Kids menu is awesome too, they have a fruit, cheese & vege platter option which is rare for kid menus! They also have awesome frozen drink options with Frosè, spiced rum and pineapple and sour berry (my favourite!) The Owner allowed us to sample all without us having to ask which was kind! Service was absolutely lovely... all doors were held open for us including the bathroom! Very happy with our choice!!! Thank you guys!! Will be back soon!!

Had the duck salad. Loads of rocket and a few slices of duck. Want a lot of taste. Scallops in bacon where really good although very pricey.

Fantastic spot, great ambience, attentive and quick service. Food was really good, a must try if you're in Orewa. Will be back when it's sunny outside to take in the great views and local scene.

Dreadfully unhelpful manager called SteStarters and main courses all came together. His response “ was you ate it . Why didn’t you send it back “ Not first time and wouldn’t be only one to experience his confrontational attitude. Shame because food pretty ok and other staff very pleasant. New increased prices high vs other places in Orewa . Think he’s trying to match Semola prices next door . It’s only a pub ! Drinks not cheap $14 a glass for a $12 bottle in Countdown.
