Such a lovely magical place. Living amongst all the barn animals, being part of the farm was really special. Especially for (small) kids it's unforgettable. The house is great and has everything you need, including an outside jacuzzi. We loved our stay very much!

Thanks for the pleasant experience. My grand parents had a great time with farm animals. Thanks for giving us some fresh veggies and milk. My parents really liked the mountain views and bottle feeding lamb. We will definitely visit again. Thanks, Airin&Family.

Upon arriving and meeting Julie, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay! Julie was warm and made us feel welcome. The cottage was immaculate and stocked with milk, pancake mixings, cereals, yogurt, coffee and homemade brownies!! The beds and couches were comfortable, everything worked as it should. Tony gave us a farm tour, we have a newfound respect for what farmers do. We really loved when Hamesh demonstrated his ability to move the sheep. Star gazing from the hot tub was amazing. If we come back to New Zealand, we will definitely come back to Shear-vue.

It was a pleasant stay at Shear-vue farm-stay. Julia and Tony are great hosts who can handle my rowdy boys well. Greatly appreciated. A lot of effort goes into making the farm tour as informative as possible. The house is also well-equipped with what is needed for a family stay. It’s a fantastic feeling to wake up to the sound of animals amidst the lush green fields. Till now, my boys still talk about Lulu the sheep. Will definitely visit the farm again if we visit Fairlie again.

We had the pleasure of staying on Julie & Tony's farm as part of our South Island tour. They were incredibly hospitable and were quick to respond and help ensure we were welcomed with an in-person greeting (provided us the option of a more non-personal check-in/stay). The flat itself was a separate, standalone unit with a full kitchen, living room, large bedrooms, and a balcony and accompanying hot tub. Julie & Tony had chocolates and snacks in the kitchen for our arrival and included some milk, pancake mix, and other lite items for breakfast for the following morning (all included). The view from the flat was stunning and overlooked kilometers of beautiful scenery. Our hosts had a complimentary farm tour available for guests, which we took advantage of. The tour consisted of a walk around the farm and opportunities to feed Sheep, Pigs, Alpacas, and Cows. We also got an awesome demo of their dogs herding some of the farm animals! The farm is very close to Lake Tekapo, which we took advantage of in the evening and morning. There is a hot pool star gazing service available in the Lake Tekapo area; however Julie told us we'd have the same views, but more of an intimate experience, from the hot-tub and wouldn't need to pay the associated fees which are around 100 NZD per person - so that was a great saver! We also got some recommendations for dinner and lunch. Some of New Zealand's finest, fresh pies can be enjoyed at Fairlie Bakehouse - we headed there before leaving the area and heading to Mount Cook.Overall it was an incredible stay and the service and hospitality provided was truly first class. Will definitely be returning on our next trip the South Island.

Shear-Vue Farmstay was a remarkable place, one of the best farm stay experiences that we had!! Loved Lulu the lamb, Molly the pig, the hot tub, the starry night sky! We had the opportunity to carry a lamb and some puppies! Julie also gave us some fresh produce from her garden! The freshly picked broccoli, cabbage and carrots were unforgettable! Thank you so much Julie and Tony for this amazing experience!

We had a great experience. Amazing views from the cottage. The amenities were in good condition and the host was very hospitable. One thing to note is that restaurants are about ten minute drive away, but otherwise we had a marvelous stay. Three months on, the kids are still raving about the farm and Lulu the sheep!

We spent two nights at Shear-Vue with our two boys. The boys had an absolute ball. The farm tour was fun and educational and the boys loved getting up close with the animals. They’re favourites we’re feeding milk to a lamb and playing with Mush the dog. We also really appreciated the little touches like pancake mix for breakfast and chocolate slice waiting for us. Everything was clean and tidy, with considerate details. Tony and Julie were both friendly and happy to assist in any way.

Thank you Julie & Tony for a lovely stay in your home while we were cycling the length of the South Island. Loved meeting you both and learning about your life on the farm. It was a fantastic stopping place for us. And a special mention to your son's cat who snuggled me all night pretending she was allowed to be inside. Thanks again

We recently stayed at this amazing airbnb and we can confidently say that this is the best one we've been to so far in our New Zealand trip. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a delightful spread of cookies, brownies, fresh milk, cheese, and chocolates. The warmth of the heater made our stay extra comfortable as it perfectly warmed up the entire place. The room and bed were cozy and perfect for a good night's sleep. We also appreciated that the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The highlight of our stay was definitely the animal experience where we got to feed Molly the pig, the sheep, alpacas, and the cow. The farm was beautiful and serene. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.We can't forget to mention how friendly and approachable Julie was during our stay. She was kind enough to give us a huge pumpkin on our last day. We are very grateful for her hospitality.Overall, we had an amazing time here and we would definitely book this place again if we ever find ourselves back in NZ. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
