Waiotapu Mud Pool
Great stop off, easy to view and it's free. A must visit sight. Good example of the geothermal activity. Did I mention it's free unlike many other tourist spots.

Waiotapu Mud Pool
Unusual natural phenomenon of water at boiling temperatures bubbling trough mud. The mud spurts up and it feels as if you are standing and looking over the bannister of time as God creates this earth. Certainly worth the while to stop here.

Waiotapu Mud Pool
We were very impressed by these pools. Lots of activity from thick bubbling mud to 1-2 metre explosions in the pond. Free to see and just a couple minutes off the highway. Highly recommend having a look.

Waiotapu Mud Pool
These mud pools are free to visit and are fantastic at the moment after so much wet weather. There are at least 15 in a small area and the noise of mud splatting is lovely.

Waiotapu Mud Pool
Mud Pool at Waiotapu is a separate attraction located outside of the geothermal park. It's a must-visit spot after exploring the Wonderland. The Mud Pool is truly fascinating and lots of fun. You'll be amazed by the size and temperature of the mud pool, as you witness the splashing mud and the rising heat. It's an incredible sight to behold. Take your time to enjoy the unique experience and capture some memorable photos.

Waiotapu Mud Pool
Hot bubbling mud that blips and bloops, sends jets of steam into the sky and clouds of steam billow about around the mud. Everything smells of farts.It’s really fun and made me feel like I was in Ice Age. It may just be me but it’s hard not to laugh and be cheered up by farting mud. Would go happily every day.
