Tutira Reserve and Lake Waikopiro Loop Track
Fantastic spot to go for a walk, eat your lunch or just take in the spectacular views of Lake Tutira and Lake Waikopiro. There is a shelter on the top of the hill with great views of Lake Tutira and an information panel on local culture. There are several picnic tables scattered around the reserve and a public toilet by the carpark. The walking track around Lake Waikopiro offers amazing views and lots of bird life.

Tutira Reserve and Lake Waikopiro Loop Track
We came across the lake at sunset and what a time to visit! The lighting over the lake and surrounding hills was stunning, enhanced by the birdsong of ducks and piwakawaka.Don't forget to climb the small hillock by the toilet to see a Maori carving and information board. And watch out for the Maori carvings that are hidden in the large flax at the entrance/exit.The added bonus is the second lake that is by the campsite,from which a 1.5km walk begins (unfortunately we didn't have time to do this).
