The colors of the lakes are very special, a few cool campsites. Beautiful Sandy beach. Water becomes deep very fast, make sure you know how to swim.

Stunning part of NZ, water is so beautiful and blue. We spent the day relaxing by the water but there are also hikes to be done and a small food truck on site.

Beautiful white sand beaches. But too cold to swim in. A small lake, if there are some motor boats, it will be not calm at all. The campground is really basic.

Kai Iwi Lakes is a fantastic vacation spot that promises a memorable getaway. During our visit over Easter, we discovered it's a popular destination among the locals. The vast lake and its crystal-clear waters create an idyllic setting for swimming and engaging in various water sports. The tranquil atmosphere allows for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. It was a delight to see numerous people having a blast on the water with their speed boats, adding to the vibrant ambiance. If you're seeking a place to unwind, soak up the sun, and partake in water activities, Kai Iwi Lakes is the perfect choice.

Kai Iwi Lakes is an fun day trip from Auckland, but if you want to have enough time, it's best to stay overnight at the nearby campsite or other accommodation. Water is shallow and flat near the edges, but gradually deepens as the water colour gets darker. Lots of people launching boats and jet skis aswell
