High Commission of Malaysia

Very insular, consular staff are not helpful, but not surprised given the dysfunctional nature of the high commission. Very bureaucratic and pedantic and don't really help Malaysians in need, cannot provide simple solutions to simple issues. Very arrogant and not genuine. Don't go unless you are prepared to face severe inefficiency in service delivery. Malaysian staff are essentially here for an extended vacation, wasting Malaysian taxpayers' coffers.

Went there to work my visa and one of the staff member greet us with one of the worst greet you can get. Not a smile or a care was given. I ask some questions and most of the answer I got are really vague answers. I was in dire need to sort my visa and they don't even seem to care at all. They just want me to finish quickly and stop asking questions, which is their jobs. I never feel so angry dealing with the people there and hope the Embassy deal with these type of incompetent staff. Seriously, look at other southeast Asian embassies review on Google. They have higher ratings than ours. What does that say about our country,huh? Anyway, if you're at the embassy or planning to deal with this people there, I hope you're going to be alright. Good luck and hope the embassy staff wasn't rude to you today.

I have had 3 great experiences with the Malaysian High Commission in Wellington. Getting my passport renewed twice and police certs. The staff are very helpful and provided all the relevant information to assist me. Thank you for your help.

I am surprised to see some of the comments in regards to the service. Me and my family had a great experience with the service we received few years ago. We were there to organise the Malaysia marriage certificate and emergency document. All 3 staff members we came across were very helpful and help to guide us how to complete the form as I am non Malaysia citizen. The staff member even came out to check whether we were ok as we came early morning from Auckland and play with our baby son. We were told we might not get the document the same day but they did try the best so that we can be back to Auckland without delay. Love the service and staff helpfulness.

Simply awful. Rang regarding a visa application issue. The woman on the phone was utterly disinterested in my query, offered no assistance, kept talking over me and eventually just gave me the Melbourne office phone number when she could have contacted these people herself and put in even a modicum of effort. Hopeless.

The stenographer who assisted me for quite a number of times was really helpful, patient and very quick in responding to emails. She was a great help for me in sorting things out before I leave to Malaysia. Kudos to Ms.D and thanks again!

Had multiple interaction with MHC in several occasions and the most recent one has been the best so far. Daphne at consular section has been so helpful and very responsive to our email query and application. Keep it up MHC.

Bad service, lazy work ethics. If there was a negative star I’d smash repeatedly for days and still they’d be too lazy to care and improve.

If there is a 0 star i would rate it with no doubts! We renewed passport through them and have inform them regarding change of address earlier and they have confirmed that address has been updated and that the courier package will be send to the new address. Fast forward to a few weeks later, we then received email that notify us they send back the passport. We query which address did they send the passport to, but we didn’t receive any feedback. We only manage to find out they never update the new address when we contact NZ post. Now we have to worry someone else takes our passport and God knows what they will do. No email reply from Embassy of Malaysia after this happen, great work!!
