Great place, very basic. You need to pay for showers and BBQ. Really good privacy. Nice and close to good walks

It was a lovely little campground and wonderful to stay so close to Wharariki Beach, so we ended up staying 2 nights! The shower was nice and hot and 2$ for 6 minutes is a fair price in my opinion. The Kitchen has fridge, freezer, 2 gas stoves and a microwave, so you have to bring your own pots and stuff for cooking, which most campers have anyways.Highly recommend this place!

Really enjoyed my 2 night stay at the Holiday park. Campground facilities were basic but functional. Long drop toilets were clean and didn't smell. Phone service is minimal at best and WiFi due to location is limited, other reviewers didn't seem to appreciate this would likely be the case. Perfect location for the beach / sunset and other walks in the area, plus there's a daily cafe open next to the car park.

Closest place you can stay to the elephantine rocks. Completely off the grid, which comes with its own challenges. We had a cabin, which was great, window fitted with mosquito net.Kitchen is spacious but almost completely without utensils. Any utensils there seemed to belong to other guests.Toilets are waterless. This worked surprisingly well and was surprisingly clean, but remains suboptimal.Friendly and helpful staff. There is a cafe nearby for coffee and cake, but otherwise you need to bring your own food and water (and take all garbage back with you).

Never seen this many flies in a drop toilet in my life. There was used toilet paper in our assigned camping spot (for a reason). Staff didn’t care at all when we told them. Very overpriced. 15% surcharge for the King’s Birthday, 4 days prior to the actual public holiday. Total $46 for one night. Location is good.

Non friendly reception, expensive poor quality wifi, no utensils in kitchen & pit toilets. Great location though and clean. Oh and $2 showers.

I don‘t get some of these negative reviews. You have to drive along a gravel (!) road for several miles to get there, so to expect “perfect” amenities is imho ridiculous. This is one of the best locations and landscapes I’ve encountered for a long time. The kitchen has also a living room-style quality to it, including a sun deck. Yes, cooking gear needs to be brought but you could ask in the office and they would help you out.Pit toilets are obviously not always “expected”, but they were clean and not smelly at all.Yes, cell reception is non-existent within the camping ground. Half-way to the beach up on the hill ridges you will get one bar, enough for urgent messages.Don’t forget to enjoy the sunset at Wharariki Beach, even the 20-minute “hike” across the meadows to get there is amazing!Other must-dos:Cape Farewell and the hike up to “Pillar Point Lighthouse”.All in all, highly recommended!!

It is what it is. Basic camp but clean enough. Showers are $2 for approx 3-4 minutes. $25 for a powered site (1 person) off season but beware it's a very limited power output, far less amps than normal so don't expect to run too much.

Great location, great gardening and scenery. Other then that this is the worst Holiday park in NZ ive seen. They monetize showers.. close the entire kitchen, showers and bathrooms from 10am-11:30am.. which is prime time breakfast for many folks. They charge extra for wifi too. All of this you dont see at other holiday parks. Figure it out WHP.
