I've been a member of the Howick Chapter of BNI since I bought my business (EmbroidMe East Tamaki) in September 2007. In that time I have found meeting weekly with like minded people who want to grow their business of great benefit. Yes, the membership has paid for itself, many times over, but for me the greatest thing is the friends I've made and the networking with trusted business people I've met at and through BNI. There are many business networking groups, but BNI is the original and still the best, in my opinion.

I credit BNI with a great deal of my success in business and personal growth. I have made wonderful, life-long friends who have a business mind-set. I have gained so much knowledge from various professionals, which in turn, makes my expertise so much more valuable to my clients.We are so lucky here in New Zealand to have an excellent Leadership Team at the top, nurturing all the chapters (groups) to ensure we are functioning well.BNI meets weekly and encourages high attendance - something that sets BNI apart from other networking clubs. This pillar ensures we are all dedicated to growing each others businesses.There is also ample opportunity to step up into leadership positions. This gives you greater respect and visibility within the Chapter itself and incredible people-management skills at the same time.I could go on and on about how much I love BNI but the best thing to do is to experience it yourself. 11 years in a BNI Group and still rolling.BNI has been a good way of staying in touch with what is going on around town, good for getting business and good for me having a breakfast at least once a week. It’s like having a little bit of Insurance that there is work there and it comes our way over time.I even got the old 10 Year Badge. Ha.Roll on BNI!

I joined BNI during the early days of Social Media an Digital Marketing and have remained a member over the years. Via my connection with Graham Southwell, Regional BNI directors and other BNIers, I have formed fantastic working relationships, friendships and created a wide network of fellow business owners that I can confidently refer to. BNI has been a great help with my business and also my personal development, I have tried other groups but BNI was the only one that was focused on business.I have increased my network and once every week I am with like-minded business people who are all about networking, building relationships and growing business. I joined BNI to gain friends and business relationships when I moved from Scotland 11 years ago as I knew no-one, and I’ve been part of my BNI group for 10 years and I LOVE it! I am surrounded by a group of awesome people that are experts in their field and I love calling on them to help me improve my business, and catching up with the members to find and create opportunities for them when I am in conversation with clients, business colleagues and friends. I joined BNI when I just started my business. Being an immigrant it was not an easy journey to understand the protocols of running business in a foreign country and to make connections. But BNI made the journey easy. From the day I joined BNI I made so many connections with amazing business owners who not only helped my business to grow but also helped me to make my small business a brand. Having been a BNI member for almost 19 years now, I would have to say I'm committed to the cause! BNI has made a massive positive difference to my business (property management). The low cost to return has proven fantastic year after year without fail now for over 15 years. I can't think of any other marketing/networking systems that have such a good cost verse return ratio. Apart from the hundreds of thousands of dollars BNI has added to my business value, I have really enjoyed the friendships and the expertise of other members in the group.
