Kauri Coast TOP 10 Holiday Park

Probably the prettiest holiday park I’ve seen, tucked in the bend of a stream with native birds, eels, glow worms… Immaculate facilities, friendly, helpful staff, and great WiFi. A true gem! I followed the directions & had no trouble finding it. Google Maps was also trustworthy because I had offline maps downloaded before I lost signal.

Of all the Top 10 Holiday parks this one is world class. First of all it’s a bit hard to find but if you follow the directions as printed out at the time of booking you would not miss it. It’s beautiful location is between two rivers and the Dining Hall entrance has a lovely Herb Garden and has basil Thyme oregano and cilantro growing. Wish we could plant some lemon grass to enhance the flavor of our vegetable soup. Very peaceful quite location and since we arrived late the directions were pinned to the office mail box! Love this place!

Professional, respectful and supportive with great communication skills. Truly the best campground you’ll stay at. Safe for children and very well maintained grounds, pleasure to look at. Honestly best place to make memories that will last a lifetime. Will be back every single year with our family. We will recommend to all. Thank you for a great holiday Happy new year xoxo

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time, even when canping in those wild winds. We're used to that, coming from Wellington. We all loved the surroundings where the kids loved feeding the eels, rope swing into the river, and playground. It felt very safe, clean and welcoming. Fantastic as always. We have stayed here a few times now and have always had a great stay. Such an amazing spot. Amazing hosts. Amazing clean facilities. Close to the lakes and amazing kauri bush walks. It’s like our northland home away from home.

A Top 10 holiday park. We opted to go camping here and the amenities were perfect. This is a well looked after place where everything was clean and orderly. You can tell the owner puts a lot of effort and love into this place as there are lots of helpful signs explaining the native flora and fauna around the place and the history too. There is a stream with a swing and some tubes you can hire.

Lovely quiet campground in a quiet, picturesque setting, nestled in the bend of a river. Super clean and tidy with great facilities- a great playground, flying fox, good showers, wood burning fire in the well equipped family room. Handy to Kai iwi Lakes and Waipoua forest. Would definitely stay again.

Thanks to the team over at kauri coast for doing such a great job of keeping the campsite smooth running during the Christmas holiday period, communication with the team was fantastic as we were scheduled to arrive in the evening time and found, in the key box, our envelope for us with clear instructions and maps to guide us around the campsite after hours.The amenities were all close by, and very well maintained, even the dump station was free of foul smell.It was a busy season and I think the campsite was fully booked, but everyone was considerate, we had a wonderful rest after our long road trip and woke up refreshed.There were a few sand flies around, but not in apocalyptic proportion.We were greeted by a black and white looking kitty who came and inspected our vehicle and was given the ok by kitty (its so fluffy)Keep it up guys!!!!!

we parked the caravan and camped overnight. our visit was in winter. this winter was ridiculously wet in northland. we managed to squeeze the caravan into a camper van hardsite. there is no way we could go off the hard and camp by the river. The rooms looked clean and adequately appointed. the toilets, showers. kitchen areas were clean and tidy. friendly knowledgeable staff. dig friendly with heaps of room to walk the dog. glow worms under the bridge were a treat for the kids. unfortunately, the weather was against us to do the kiwi walk. will have to go again to do that. would be a fun place to stay in summer and play in the river. beautiful drive thru Trounson Park.
