Have only ever had takeaway but would like to note that they really put effort into presentation even in take out form! Always super tasty and filling - feels like eating a home cooked meal made with love.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT. I should've known the minute we stepped in. Cricket on the TV. The table had crawling insects, another on the window, another flying around, and the floor was dirty. Seats are too low. It hurt my knees. Waiter #1 was ok. Pappadom was nice. Lolipop chicken. WOW, 4 small wings for $15. Complete rip off! Wings don't have much meat as it is and it was all shoved up the bone to make it look like a lollipop. Waiter #2 was rude and slammed food down on our table, as if to make a point. Lamb biryani was tasty, albeit too spicy and I normally eat hot. Thank goodness for the raita! The naan breads were cheese and garlic and cheese and chilli - flavourless. No garlic or chilli taste and doughy. They also could not do an Indian style Butter Chicken (less sweet). Other Indians do it easily. We won't go back. As are indian and really disappointed.

Came here on Monday evening for work purposes. Everything about the experience was five star from the food to the service and in particular the staff who were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Would fully recommend the restaurant to anyone an awesome experience.

Have dined here 3 times now and the first 2 times were great, tonight though I’m pretty upset.I ordered my food with the spice level as hot like always, when I got it though my chicken was tough and rubbery and the dish tasted like there was zero spice.I called up the restaurant and was told the chef said they may have made medium instead of hot.I was told that they’d do better next time, when I asked is there anything you can do to make it right this time I was told “you can bring it back and we could give you a new one but if you’ve already mixed it with rice then there’s nothing we can do”I was then told to try adding some spices I have at home into the dish.After asking again for a resolution they told me that they could give me a free curry next time I make an online order.It’s unlikely I’ll order again though as this has left a bad taste in my mouth figuratively and literally.

Beware if you order online using Menulog from this place. My very first time ordeing from them and my delivery arrived missing a number of items. I called Swagat to find out what they would be able to do to rectify the this and they told me it was nothing to do with them. Not their responsibility nor their problem and they effectively don’t really endorse Menulog as part of their service provision. So, I paid for food that never arrived and that’s not their fault. Sorry Swagat I won’t be ordering from you ever again. Zero stars. * Uodate 17/2/23 - I can confirm that regardless of what Swagat have said in their response to this review, to date I have absolutely NOT been refunded for the missing food I ordered and paid for. So I am sorry to say I still don’t understand what went on, nor why you think this is not your responsibility. You took my money happily enough for food that didn’t arrive.

Have to agree, best Indian in Wellington. Beautifully presented too even as a takeaway with lovely garnish. They went to effort to make sure we had meals that were gluten free and vegan for some of the meals, called twice to make sure. Taste was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

I ordered four meals and found three were tasty and great. Unfortunately the goat curry was extremely tough and was difficult to eat off the bone. The gravy in which the goat curry was in was tasty and was eaten with the jeera rice. All the goat meat was thrown away. Also the roti was hard which is unusal as rotis should be soft and easy to break.
