Alan, the owner is friendly and full of good advice. The paint I was after was not in stock however he had it there within a few days (it's an unusual colour).The shop has a good selection of models to cater for most genres and are reasonably priced. There are also supplies and die casts available as well.It's great to have a proper hobby shop back in South Auckland.

Sneaking in for a quick and simple 1/100 armour kit or something more elaborate, if Alan ain't got it he will find it for you. Great atmosphere, great advice, always hard to spend 'just' a half hour there. Two thumbs up, both covered in paint!

Model shop run by an enthusiast, who loves models. Wonderful and polite will do anything to assist you. Brought me empire strikes back model, excellent condition. Almost anything you need for a modelling

As a complete beginner at model painting, and frustrated with incomplete & out of stock range online (buying items through multiple online shops) I’ve decided cancel all my online orders and drop in my local hobby shop Model Room, this should have been my first stop when I started out the hobby, I wish I came here first .The owner Alan is very friendly and had no problem answering the most beginner questions, which a lot of times is pretty hard to grasp for a first timer.I had such a great experience here I felt I needed to leave Model Room a 5 star, for the variety and service, and also support local business.Will definitely return for more modeling supplies.

Reallly awesome owner. Helpful. Unbelievable array of model interests/subjects. Awesome too see this type of store alive & kicking. Prices from $5 up for models. I've never seen such a mix of subjects & then the range of types within each subject.

Alan, the owner, is a top bloke and skilled modeller. He's very friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge across many modelling genres. I've found his advice very useful on numerous occasions. I am also impressed by the range he carries, much of which is unique in my experience and not offered by other NZ model shops. I highly recommend The Model Room.

Always a pleasure to walk in to this little but we'll stocked shop. Chris is very helpful will try to order an item if not on the shelf. During COVID-19 Chris sent out our orders. Totally recommend.
