Lake Ferry Hotel

Stumbled upon here on our first day trip to visit Cape Palliser, as recommended by the lady at the Piriroa (?) General Store for us to get a coffee at. although at first we thought the view wasn't so special after spending a little time we fell in love with the place and had great chats with the regulars and the owner. the view was amazing, you can see the Kaikoura coast and mountains from there it's unbelievable, like being on Mars. took a chance to order some fish n chips and they were AMAZING. couldn't believe it. such a satisfying day before we went out to enjoy the views of the Cape. lovely!!! enjoy your trip to Vanuatu sir

Came here for their famous Fish N Chips and wasn't disappointed. Also ordered the Paua Fritters, Seafood Chowder and Buffalo Wings. All was very scrumptious and hearty. But I think the restaurant service could do with a bit more warmth though.

Wonderful Service and Delicious Burgers though they were about $26 a pop so you would want them to be. Limited menu selection its really burgers or fish and chips.

Excellent Fish in a Basket for lunch. The best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Highly recommended!

Travelled to Lake Ferry to show this area to my partner who had never been there. Decided to eat at the LF Hotel as I was keen to try the ‘famous fish n chips’. They were a huge disappointment in quality and value, only one piece of fish for $22? My partner’s Steak Burger was better thankfully. Have given this a 2 star rating which is Ok. This establishment is old and tired and needs some serious $$ spent on it. Won’t be rushing back.

This is a classic Wellington region experience. Drinks and dinner over looking the amazing river mouth and bar with the Rimutaka's in the distance.Stunning summers evening.Busy time for the staff but they kept smiling.

We had Lake Ferry Hotel recommended to us by the bookshop in Featherston. We were very pleased we went there for lunch Memory on the bar was great and the fish n chips in a basket was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Usually have lunch here once or twice I year when in the area. Every single time I have the fish and chips because it couldn't be topped...or so I thought. Today I tried the steak burger. Now I'm thinking of relocating just to be closer. Also some guy was cranking out some old tunes on his violin and various other instruments. Really laid back pleasant vibe, thoroughly enjoyed.

Great place for some food and a drink in the morning. No breakfast menu, which would be good but otherwise the staff and the vew is amazing highly recommend!!!
