Hawkes Lookout Walk
Tranquil and enjoyable. Do it, you won't regret it. Be careful that the car park is not large so park caravans on roadside since you don't want to back out of the car park onto main road.

Hawkes Lookout Walk
Nice short walk from carpark (5mins each way). Relatively easy walk to a great lookout. Geology is super impressive. Worth a stop

Hawkes Lookout Walk
Beautiful view from a viewing platform. Just few minutes from the car park next to the road. There are also public toilets.

Hawkes Lookout Walk
I'm so impressed by the way New Zealand gives to such lengths to create and maintain facilities such as this. Hawkes Lookout Walk comprises of a long-ish well made pathway then a long boardwalk & steps leading to an excellent viewing platform. The carparking is free too and there's even a toilet.

Quick walk, beautiful scenery, lots of birds. Great to do on the way to the resurgence point or the caves nearby!

Hawkes Lookout Walk
A lovely little stop off point on the way to Ngarua Caves. Good parking, a short walk through the trees on a purpose-built walkway, and then onto the viewing platform for a panoramic view over the surrounding hills, valleys and towards the coast. Great on a clear day!

Hawkes Lookout Walk
Hawkes Landing is a Public Conservation Area that provides an excellent rest stop for travellers over Takaka Hill. But that's not all, a 10 minute walk takes you to a wonderful lookout with a sweeping panorama view across the Riwaka Valley, Tasman Bays, the Marlborough Sounds and Richmond Ranges. The lookout is lovingly cared for by the Takaka Hill Biodiversity Group Trust made up of Community members who live on Takaka Hill. The group clear invasive weeds and restore areas of the lookout with the locally propagated limestone loving native species as part of their mountains to the sea biodiversity work.

Hawkes Lookout Walk
Brilliant lookout with a 7-8 minute walk up to it on a well defined track. The walk has around 8-9 steps but is otherwise relatively flat. There is a public toilet at the start and the car park is well signposted from the road with space for around 10 cars (less if there are campervans). Well worth a stop!

Hawkes Lookout Walk
Nice little view over the green mountain tops, a short 4 minute walk from the parking place, which is also a freedom camping. There is a public toilet on start of the path.
