Very kind place. Very cheap really for the experience you're getting. You can go there to buy board games/dice/RPG equipment/paints. Friendly staff, including the mascot Ziggy Starr the resident dog. Can get a coffee, snacks, or cold drinks. Sit down and play any game off the shelf with a friend. Truly amazing experience

The friendly local game store Artemis Games is a hidden gem here in Gisborne, it's so much more than a retail store and provides a great space for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn and share board games, table top games, card games and more.There's even space to skill share game adjacent hobbies like miniature painting, 3d printing, and even knitting!And if that's not enough, they've easily got some of the best coffee in town which is a great excuse to pop in for a nosey if you're new to gaming or curious!

Went in while on summer holiday with the family. Staff were really knowledgeable and welcoming to my whole family.I took the opportunity to try out Magic Maze from their game library with my 9yo, which unfortunately wasn't for them. If I wasn't pressed for time I would have gladly kept going back until we found the right one and bought from them.If it were my local I would be very happy.
