Industrial port fitted out for logging, no pedestrian access - everyone had to use the shuttle bus into Picton

Cruise ship wharf with bus access to Lyttelton and onto Christchurch.Staff were all very friendly and helpful, but note this is a heavy goods harbour and you need to take a bus from the Cruise Ship Wharf into Lyttelton itself.

You can not just visit the cruise ship wharf. You must be a passenger from a cruise or one of the people working there.It's a very poorly designed facility with no shelter from the elements and very little thought given to clear access and egress for the huge number of buses and coaches that use it. Much of this would have been solved if pedestrian access to Lyttelton had been provided.
