Hokitika Beach Sign

Beautiful place to watch the ocean, there is a boardwalk with picnic tables. Toilets and cafes are close by

Surprisingly enjoyable driftwood sign beside a paved walkway amongst larger rocks that continue for a couple meters before some sand on the beach. There are toilets extremely close by as well as some picnic tables and rubbish bins.A short 5-10min walk down the beach will bring you to sunset point. Similarly short walk back into town through a nice walkway with an overhanging sign that lights up at night.Some people have a bit too much fun with the sign, climbing and leaning on it. The driftwood is held there by large rocks and some rope, modestly holding it in place. Found the letter K in rough shape but was able to fix it by moving a couple rocks around.

The view of Tasman Sea from this spot is amazing with Grey sandy beach. Small Grey pebbles get washed to the top of the beach which gives a better atmosphere. Even the view of the sun is stunning from here.

Nice little town with a nice track along the waterfront. Public toilets everywhere so set up for tourists unlike Greymouth.

Lovely beach, dogs must be on leash at all times.There are some parking lots and toilets here:)It’s amazing place to enjoy the breeze and beach, highly recommend to visit here at sunset.

They were having a “Driftwood and Sand” competition the day we were there. There were some real imaginative sculptures.

Awsome place,lovely weather.No a swimming beach

An ordinary beach with the famous Hokitika sign which is also a famous spot for visitors to capture photographs.The beach is quiet, relaxing, and peaceful with some shops nearby. Did not see any sports activities happening on this beach.

On holiday in hokitika and went to watch the sunset. Beach isn't suitable for swimming but it's OK for paddling and playing on the sand. The shipwreck was a lighlight for our kids
