Ossie's Chalets & Apartments

Cannot say enough good things about John, Sue and Ossie’s. Great base for a mountain weekend whether you’re skiing, biking or just hanging out. Best value for money in Ohakune, looking forward to staying again soon.

Really enjoyed our stay. Due to a mix up when we made the booking (my daughter's error booked for the wrong dates), we had a huge family sized chalet. We got a great rate, and had easy access from here up the mountain. The wood burner was amazing, kept the place warm, dried all our gear ready for the next day, and firewood shed was conveniently at the back door.Had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. Handy to everything in town.

Great hosts. Very well priced on normal week days. The chalets are lovely wooden interior. It does a good job of making it feel very mountainous up there Alamos as if we were in a real Swiss chalet! In a good day there is a good view of the mountain which is a plus.

The place was cozy,. great location, they had a drying cupboard in room which was great for ski gear. Air conditioning, was nice and warm. However, the bed's had springs coming out of them, that needed to be replaced - this resulted in a terrible sleep. The showers barely worked, the water dribbled out, so forget about trying to wash your hair. Overall, not bad value for the price, but due to the horrible beds and showers I will not be returning.

This place was great. Quiet clean and more accommodation than we required there is bedding for 6 (1xdouble 1x bunk and 2 x single beds) All the beds are in the same room upstairs. There is a small living area with a dinning table fir 4 and a kitchette with sink microwave fridge and cooker. We were there in summer but did note there were drying rooms for ski gear for winter. About a 2 to 3 minute drive from town so probably not walking distance in winter. Will stay there again.

Great Hosts. Lovely wooden Chalets. All you need for a lovely ski weekend away. They even hire ski/snowboard equipment to you, edge and wax equipment and make basic repairs, which was done for one of our snowboards!!

Stayed over Christmas period. Looks as if emergency housing had taken over this complex as well. Wouldn’t recommend if you are wanting somewhere peaceful, safe, secure for your family. Kids constantly looking through your windows and doors, we had a couple kids try open our door. Teenagers hanging around our unit and vehicle up until early hours of the morning.Huge fight broke out early in the morning our kids woke up to windows being smashed, screaming and yelling. We had to call police and the Owners as no staff were on site.Well done to the Manager who did show up - She handled the situation well. Entire place is a little tired and there is an excess of rubbish in common areas but overall the unit was spacious, clean and suitable for a family.

Amazing apartment, very spacious and clean. We stayed here for 2 nights my wife and I and it was really a great experience. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own food and the atmosphere is quite unique. I would definitely recommend this place while your are visiting the area.

Tidy and clean units. Friendly staff.Unfortunately the TV reception was terrible so made it very frustrating to wind down in the evening and the floor upstairs was extremely noisy and creaked a lot.Close to the township, 3min drive!Would stay here again, but would prefer a stand alone unit.Needs a little TLC otherwise nice.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom Chalet in July for 3 nights, heat pump in living area mainly heats the 2 rooms upstairs and was very noisy, couldn't watch tv or sleep properly because of it but needed to keep it on or else freeze. Kitchenette had all essentials, staff very nice. Toilet and shower clean but very cold. Great location. With just a few fixes in regards to the heat pump it would be absolutely great.
