HS Building Inspections

I used Graham for a pre-purchase property inspection and found him to be extremely professional and gave us great advice about the property. Allows you to make informed decisions about one of the biggest purchases you'll ever make. I had 2 different mates (not paid) who are builders walk through the place to give me an idea of possible issues. Whilst they pointed out a few things after having Graham go through the property it just highlighted the difference between having a builder and having a qualified building inspector -just a much higher understanding of current and potential future risks to you property . Graham was extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would (and have) recommend him to anyone wanting more info on a property.

Have used them for three times now. I am very happy with their service. Very honest and provide excellence feedback and independent advice. I wouldn't of had the confident in the property I bought without them. Cost is very reasonable for the outstanding service they provided and waiting time was good, very professional and report was well detailed and was happy to discuss anything over the phone regarding the report and their expert opinion. Great experience. Graham was incredibly helpful and thorough, explaining through everything on site and promptly provided a detailed written report. The thermal imaging is incredibly revealing and not offered by most other pre purchase inspection services. I wouldn't go with anybody else in the future!

Very trustworthy, honest and reliable for pre-purchase inspections. We used Graham a few times prior to going to auctions.I opted for the in-person inspection and I would highly recommend this option for first home buyers. It was really useful to walk around and learn from the experience as I was able to use this knowledge when viewing other open homes.It's easy to book in the appointment online and the communication is fantastic, especially when we needed a last minute inspection.Highly recommend getting the thermal moisture detection option too. There can be hidden moisture in walls that you'd have no idea about.

I have used HS many times during our search for the right property to purchase. It was money well spent. Graham was responsive, thorough, professional and had our best interests at heart throughout. His expert advice helped us to avoid a number of potential mistakes and to assess risks realistically to achieve the best outcome for our family. I would recommend him (and HS) without hesitation.

Graham was fantastic - He went absolutely out of his way to squeeze the inspection in with a fast turnaround, after another company let us down (twice) creating some very real time pressure. Fortunately Graham was able to save the day!We feel we got great professional advice, a very comprehensive and easy to understand report, all at a fair price.It was really helpful to chat through different aspects of house construction with him, along with things to watch out for with future preventative maintenance.10/10 would recommend.

Horrific company and experience. Won’t give you an actual price but say ‘starting from $299+GST’ but we ended up with a surprise bill of over $1400! Even though this was more than twice the amount we had paid from another building inspector for similar sized properties.They also do not even provide a written report for this outrageous amount! Just a phone call. Then when you ask for something that even proves they were at the property at all, they threaten to take you to debt collectors for not paying. It seems they have a lot of practice with angry customers. No surprises there. So we ended up paying $1400 for absolutely nothing.Will never use them again, and recommend nobody else does either. I never write online reviews but felt compelled to on this issue as it was some of the worst service and rip offs I’ve ever experienced.Would have given them zero stars if this was an option.

We can't recommend Graham from Heat seekers enough. We used his service more than half a dozen times on properties we were interested in buying. On every occasion he provided us with a detailed builders report which in the long run saved us a ton of money as he picked up significant building concerns which had been covered up by the vendors.He always gave us a very detailed report with the option to add on the written report later if we were going ahead with purchase or needed it. He was so patient explaining everything in layman's terms so we understood. On one property we knew a couple who had a building report done too by another company which gave it a green light, however we had our own assessment done by Graham and he red flagged several issues which would of cost us a small fortune to fix if we had gone ahead and purchased at auction. That's the difference between cowboys and professionals.To be honest friends said we were mad getting the full heat seeking scans done on every property we were potentially buying, telling us they had a builder who could do it for cheaper...however time and time again his attention to detail and professional attitude saved us money in the long run....after all your property is your biggest asset. In fact one of the estate agents who gave him access to a property we were interested in said she'd never come across such a thorough builder doing an inspection and that says something! I would recommend this company above anyone else in Auckland every time. Yes it's hard forking out for endless builders reports and being outbid at auction or choosing to walk away from a property because of an unfavourable builders report but at the end of the day if you want to guarantee no hidden surprises post purchase and budget costs in a new home you should speak to Graham.

We’ve used Graham twice now and he’s been brilliant. On both occasions he understood the circumstances and offered the right product at the right price and within days. Ultimately we’re left with a very thorough report which shows experience, care and real effort. Thank you Graham
