A friend of mine recently tried to buy a pair of boots at the Hannahs at Lynn Mall and St Lukes and Henderson branches Auckland. He wanted to use cash but was told he couldn't use cash. He was given no explanation and when he asked to speak to the manager the manager refused to speak to him. In the end he got a voucher and the retail assistant accepted that. I understood that cash is legal tender according to the New Zealand Reserve Bank.
