Distinction Luxmore Hotel Te Anau

I stayed for 2 nights on my tour. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bed furniture was dated and the room was old fashion.

Unfortunately the beds in our room were extremely firm, leading to a sleepless night. Don't understand how such a mattress could find its way into a hotel. The lack of AC wasn't too big a problem, and the bathroom facilities were fine.Breakfast and service was fine.

Great place to stop on a trip along the coast road. The rooms are a good size and they are comfortable. No air conditioning but surprisingly the rooms weren't too hot.

We arrived , only to find our room was not what we had paid for . On booking we requested walk in shower / King bed , Only receive 2 beds shower over bathAsked this to be checked as agent had Stated on Booking “Walk in Shower on booking”No , fully booked -Room was old & tied - apparently we had a de luxe superior- no air conditioning/ just fans - presentation on BreakfastShocking -Second day Our Towels weren’t replaced or Room serviced , no cleaning throughout corridors old carpets.Hotel is In need of a total revamp. I recently stayed at the Distinction Luxmore Hotel Te Anau and while I was satisfied with some aspects of my stay, there were a few areas that could use some improvement. Firstly, the rooms were quite spacious, but they were old and outdated, desperately needing an upgrade to bring them up to modern standards. Unfortunately, the lack of heating in the room meant it was uncomfortably cold throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep.Disappointingly, the TV in my room didn't work which was frustrating, but the staff were helpful and did their best to rectify the issue. Despite the issues with the room amenities, I must commend the hotel staff for their customer service. They were always ready to assist and ensure that I had a comfortable stay.On the bright side, the breakfast was great, with a good variety of options available. The take away lunches were also a nice touch, and I appreciated the convenience of being able to grab a packed lunch for my day trip. However, I would have preferred if machine coffee was available during breakfast to cater to those who prefer a quick and easy caffeine fix.Overall, my stay at the Distinction Luxmore Hotel Te Anau was pleasant, and I'm sure upgrades are planned for the future. While my rating is based on the facilities and amenities, I am sure that once the hotel is upgraded, it will be a fantastic place to stay. I would definitely consider returning in the future.

The worst experience ever in a hotel. The room was disgusting, totally in need of upgrading. It was like a room you might get in the 60s so old and smelly. The manager gave me another room in another location but that room not made up. Looked like bed just slept in and used towels. Had to go back to original room which had insecure door that couldn't be locked but had a tiny sliding bolt. Bed horrible. Staff pretty hopeless. Beter off sleeping in my bus

Only heaters in the rooms no cooling. On a 21deg day it was stiflingly hot and the windows are hinged at the top and only pivot open 10cm at the base so minimal air flow. A fan is provided but this is insufficient in summer.Apart from the very hot rooms, the room itself was great. Awesome pressure in the showers, comfy beds, pillows very low and not puffy (so not great for me), clean and spacious.Lifts aren't very fast but there are three of them. Plenty of parking but spread around multiple parking areas so if one's full try another.Located in the centre of town and near the river so walking distance everywhere.

Had brunch at Baileys, staff were friendly, a little more training wouldn't go a miss especially letting customers know what the specials are when they are offered menus so they can consider these with the other options. The chowder had nice flavor although consistency was thin and not really a chowder, but did have some good pieces of seafood in it. The venison burger was full of flavor and the side of chip were spot on for crispy. The choices available offer something for everyone and prices are reasonable and plenty of options to ait inside or out.

Our room was not made up and I was told upon inquiring that management did not want to pay overtime on a public holiday as they did not have enough staff report to work.Management did not initiate communication about the room. No offer of future discounts. I had to go to desk and ask for clean towels. Would have used previous day but they weren’t dry. Why did they get wet because this motel still uses a shower curtain over the bath to step in for a shower. On my trip I stayed in much better AirB&B in Dunedin and Hamilton.

Room was disappointing - tired and in need of an update, right down the end of a corridor, bed was fine but pillow like a piece of cardboard. Shower was over bath and toilet paper lacked any substance! TV didn’t work - someone came quickly to fix it, but couldn’t. It was then swapped the next day.But it was central and staff helpful. We didn’t eat on- site.Was expensive for what it was and not value for money. It was called Distinction but sadly, nothing distinctive about itI’d book early for Te Anau so you have some choice. We left it too late.
