Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Suitable for all ages. We really enjoyed seeing the glow worms. There were so many of them like stars in the sky. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been.

The caves and tour guide were great but the people on the tour were not. People not respecting the most basic rules..do not talk or take photos/ use your flashlight. Just ruin it for the rest of us that can follow basic requests. Stay home if you cannot behave for an hour. My 2 year old did better than all of them.

Amazing experience. Put this on your to do list. The people running this are great. The caves are tremendous. The glow worms are like a hidden galaxy under our feet. You can't bring light down there so if your kids wear those shoes that light up when they step, please take them off or leave them home. They are like strobe lights down there and the light scares away the glow worms for the next tour.

Really glad we decided to stop by here. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and we felt it was well worth the ticket price.

I’ll preface this by saying that I absolutely hate tours and hubby dragged me to this but I loved it! I HATE dark water and being confined so this says a lot. We stayed in cabins just near the caves so this was part of the charm. After a short intro in the gorgeous open air wooden amphitheater, our fantastic guide (can’t remember his name but he was 20-something and we were his first tour after his holiday) walked our group of about 20 down into the caves and shared fascinating and funny facts about the family, caves and glow worms every step of the way. The caves are incredible inside and very safe if you follow instructions. I would have liked to sit in the boat under the starry glow of worms and listen to the water droplets for a bit longer (never ever thought I’d hear myself say that!) but he let us take photos and videos at the very end so I can watch it and pretend later lol. Wear comfortable shoes and a light jacket. Don’t forget your mask if needed.

Photography within the caves isn’t allowed, since you won’t be able to see the glow worms and they react to bright flashes of light…Absolutely worth the money, it’s breathtaking!I’d recommend the night tour though… it’s much better then!

The cave is small but easy to walk inside. It was great to our group as we have many seniors visiting the cave. The cave was dark so we could see the growworms. The tour ended with rising a boat and existed the cave

A really peaceful tour when in the boat. There are so many glow worms above it. It is like a star lit night sky. I really loved this experience and have posted a review on Ruakuri Cave Tours for a comparison if anyone needs. No photography inside so I've included the couple of photos after leaving the cave.I have noted 4 stars only due to the fact that we got pictures taken with a photoshopped background to remember the experience by, which we did purchase, but were missing pictures in particular the ones we purchased the set for. If you aren't worried about having a photo momento however, this will have no risk on your tour which is well worth it

The most romantic cave I have ever seen. The glowworm cave itself allows no cameras or phones, whereas the Ruakuri and Aranui caves actually encourage you to bring cameras.
