Best thing to do in Lower Hutt, on a Saturday morning at 8.00am. Run along the mighty Hutt river 5km timed run, free and friendly.

Lower Hutt parkrun
Out and back course that runs along the flood banks of the Hutt River. Over 200 runners when my wife and I ran it so it was a bit congested at the start.

Have been to a couple of these weekend events now. Absolutely love the community feel to these. There's a group cheering you on in the end. It's such a good vibe.

It is an easy run - flat and at sea level. Organisers invite runners and walkers to a get-together afterwards at the Buzz Cafe.
