Green Cabs (Taxi) Wellington

Caught a green cab in Christchurch as part of a business trip. Have them in wellington, and they are usually good from what I can tell. My driver turned up 15 minutes early, and proceeded to charge me the waiting fee until I had to leave a meeting early and get my colleague as well. I may not be familiar with Christchurch, but I did my research as to where the taxi should have gone. Went off the beaten track by a block or two, then went back on track. Got to the destination and the meter said $27.40. But when he ran it through his machine to give a receipt, it magically bumped up to 29. Will not be using this service again and I can see the reason for Uber as the return trip to the same place was $16

One of their drivers tried to change lanes on a red light and drove into the rear bumper of my car. He then took off and speed in order to get away from me. When I complained to the Wellington office his manager apologised and asked for my contact details to get back to me. Over a month later and no response or further follow up from the driver, his manager, or head office. It wasn’t about the damage it was about the lack of courtesy and respect. Will not be using again.

Horrible experience. 20mins late pick up, despite prior booking. Car seat we paid extra for wasn't belted in and driver had no idea how to do it. He actually seemed to suggest it was fine NOT belted in. And in general the seat's safety was very questionable!! Then when we finally got moving driver tried to take us to wrong hotel.

My experience was driving through Wellington and seeing poor driving/decision making by a GC driver (white, grey/bald, about 50, maybe Englishman). I expressed my disapproval with a horn, he responded with a torrent of abuse. There was no question he was in the wrong. He clearly lacks the mentality to share the roads. I now can't disassociate him from how I view your firm. If I behaved like that while representing my company I'd be looking for a new job tonight. If I see some courteous driving by your guys I'll return and push this score up a star each time.

Booked child seat for our ride. The cab shows up with a loose child seat bouncing around in the back seat and we then had to spend 10 minutes figuring out how to secure the thing ourselves. All while the driver kept insisting it was all fine. He then wanted to charge us for the wait. We saidno". Still his fare was 13 dollars above the price stated on the phone when booking the ride. It also seems like he took a detour. Ridiculous. Not recommended."

Horrible service, took the longest way around Wellington which added on about 15 minutes according to google maps. Asked him to drop us off when it was clear walking would be faster, and walking in Wellington is generally a bad idea when your place is up Mt. Victoria. Charge had run up $41 by then when we could have gotten a super shuttle for $20. Would have been close to $60 if we had stayed in the cab. Literally any other service would have been better. Don’t waste your time.

Driver didn't turn up. Missed my plane.Last cab I used was late and the driver literally stunk.Need to be able to give negative or at least zero stars for the most incompetent taxi company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.Deleting the green cabs app and never using this company again.

Absolutely worst experience ever and there were a number of fundamental issues with how this organisation does business! I caught a cab from Wellington airport to the Terrace - the driver took the longest possible route to get to my destination. In total I spent over an hour in a cab to get to a destination that would normally take me about 30 to 45 minutes in peak hour traffic. They don't accept TaxiCharge payment which is inconvenient. Furthermore, their sign inside the cab only confirmed the rates but and the taxi number but did not advise accepted forms of payment or the number to contact their office. Most taxis I catch would normally have signs on each door and the dashboard confirming accepted forms of payment, the taxi number and the contact number of their office if there are any issues. In short, if you are in Wellington to do business and need a cab - just jump in the usual Wellington Combined Taxis - at least you will be guaranteed the same standard of service etc.

Thank you so much to Ashraph who drove me from Wellington airport to Houghton Valley on Friday July 14th. Not only was he cheerful, when we reached the destination, without being asked, he carried my bags up 40 steep steps which I really appreciated. No other cab driver has ever done this for me. Thank you again.

TERRIBLE! I booked a cab for 8am they arrived at 8.15am, when I was supposed to arrive at work, a 9 minute drive, I called them at 8.13am, the dispatcher said he was coming up my road. I explained that he was booked for 8am and I had received a confirmation text, I had to be at work by 8.15, he said I would be there close to them. I stopped short of saying I didn't book a helicopter!
