Hashigo Zake
The live jazz is cool as hell, and the literal atmosphere of the venue is great as they're the only one I know that has air filtration and real time information on the quality of the air. If you're still cautious about airborne illness, or if you just like to be on the cutting edge of craft beer, this is the place for you.

One of my favorite places for Sake and plum. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind and the food is amazing. The chicken karaage and the mini ramen are a must try.They also have a weekly special menu.

One of my favourite places in town. Saturday night there is always a cool band on so we go every couple of weeks. I used to sell kegs of beer to this joint back when I owned a craft brewery and they were great to deal with then (I assure you this in itself is rare!) and are awesome now I’m a customer. Beer is an awesome choice of local and NZ craft beer. 5 stars all round.

They always have awesome unique beer and barley wine on tap, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, and it is an awesome quiet study spot during the day. I can always count on Hashigo Zake for a delicious beer, chill vibe, and alone time. Thank you Hashigo Zake!!

An interesting underground bar. We went for a jazz blues band and it was a very intimate affair. Nice ambience. Unfortunately I ordered sake and it tasted very watered down.

One of the best venues in town, and has been for years. Super considerate and kind staff, love the active COVID considerations, and appreciate the vegan-friendliness.An “underground” gem, who deserves bountiful support and love.
