Horse Trekking Lake Okareka, Rotorua

Had a lovely ride, must be one of the most beautiful farms in New Zealand. Unique place, well looked after horses and gear. Highly recommend :)

Whole experience was great! Holly was a wonderful guide and we were the only people on the ride which was super cool! Views were gorgeous, Peanut and Joe were fabulous, and the dogs were the best welcome crew :)

I would recommed this horse trekking to everyone!! We went out for 3 hours. The view is amazing and the guides (we had Lori and charlotte) were so fun and friendly. It was absolutely a blast! Also the horses feels so safe!

Thoroughly enjoyed this! We booked for a 60min trek but had to go for a 90min one instead as there weren't enough guides to do a separate 60min trek for the same slot.If you're a first time rider like us, 60mins would probably be sufficient to get the hang of things and thrill of riding the horses. Although we ended up with the longer trek, still good since views were magnificent.The horses were easy to ride, they naturally follow the rest of the group apart from the occasional stop to snack on grass, drink water or a toilet break".There were 2 sheeps on the property too that were accustomed to strangers and would actually approach in hopes of food or a rub."

First time ever getting close to a horse! Due to be terrified at the sheer size of this animals!However the girlfriend pulled me by the ear and got me to overcome the fear.Lucy and the young ladies at the stables were more than helpful and kind in taking their time with me and helping me relax.Due to my height I was on Big" Joe

Had an enjoyable experience with Lucy. Booked a private tour for our group and it was catered to our beginners level.The views are breathtaking- we were taken to a hilltop with stunning views of the lake and farms.Highly recommended to try if you are in the area.

Best horse trekking in New Zealand!I have been on a few treks during my travels in New Zealand, including Lake Tekapo SI and Taranaki NI, but this one was the best by far! All the horses are gorgeous with lovely temperaments, especially my lovely steed for the day, Dallas. We rode up through native bush and then eventually out onto rolling farmland, with stunning views throughout the whole trek. There are a few highlights where you have amazing panoramic views of the lakes around you and the mountains/forests. The best part was that Lucy caters for all levels of riding but doesn’t let the beginner riders hinder the experience for the more confident riders, allowing several opportunities for cantering! We were able to wait behind whilst the others walked ahead and then canter to catch up. It was just brilliant in every aspect! I absolutely recommend this to anyone, beginner or experienced rider. The price is just brilliant as well! The saddle was also insanely comfortable!
