This is a really nice place for a photo as the Jetty is accessible and offers an impressive backdrop. We detoured here to break up a long drive from Kaiteriteri to Greymouth which was worth doing.

The lake and its surroundings are very beautiful. It is great for boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. The water is pretty cold though so you have to be brave. Would recommend a wetsuit and a hot sunny day. Only downside is there are so many sandflies!

Stopped here for breakfast after leaving Blenheim early. Beautiful place of peace and quiet. Eels and fish under jetty is a highlight.

Just over one hour vehicle drive to lake Rotoiti. There are plenty of family friendly walks in the immediate vicinity.There were black swans and eels in the lake.

If you are in the area do not bypass this unforgettably beautiful lake. It is stunning. There is a good chance you may need to bring some I insect repellent though.

Various tours and kayak available here. We did the 1 hour whiskey falls tour and would fully recommend. Just the two of us on the tour. Hamish is really knowledgeable of the area and a lovely guy! Even picked up coffee for us whilst we sorted the camper- legend!

Beautiful spot by a lovely lake. Check out the eels that lurk under the jetty. They're so cool.The DoC visitor centre just up the hill is fantastic too.
