Love my Kia Sorento and have 2 of them at home and have leased 2 through our company for the REPs with more planned for the future. The very disappointing thing for me is the servicing and have been getting the servicing done by my local Kia centre for the past 4-5 years have been very disappointed and every time I say to myself “I’ll give them another go” as I find general service centres do general work and in some cases not very well.My wife’s car and my car both due for a service and new break pads so I booked them in for just that and explained to Kia that the cars just got a WOF and I was advised to get the break pads done within the next 6 months. When I picked up the first car yesterday I was advised during the inspection the tech found that the breaks pads needed to be done so we need to make another booking for this.So once again very disappointed and not sure if it’s my bad luck every time or this is the level of service everyone gets from Kia or just out of my local Kia centre. After this last service I can finally say no more “another go” as I have just booked my car in with an AA centre and I’ll pick up some break pads from Repco this weekend and do it myself for both cars.***update***Sent my details to Kia NZ as per their request.4-5 weeks on, I haven't heard anything from Kia NZ after getting my details to look into this.

I purchased a brand new Kia Sportage in 2018 from Auckland Central Kia. All my services are up to date and have been done with Kia only. You can imagine my shock and surprise when my WOF was declined in November 2022. I was advised by Kia Westgate that my car had significant rust damage underneath and would need to be fixed before a WOF was issued. I then took my vehicle to 2 independent places for review who both said it was so bad and they only see damage like this when vehicles have been submerged in water for extended periods. My vehicle has never been in water before. The cost to fix the damage is $3250 + tax and Kia have declined to pay for this cost. Please do not purchase from Kia because I do not want anyone to have to deal with what I have dealt with. When I purchased the brand new vehicle I was promised safety, security and peace of mind. Instead I’m left with a massive bill to a car that is 4 years old. Unacceptable in my opinion. I’ve updated with Kia’s response so a warning to anyone buying a KIA - it can rust extensively after 4 years and they will blame the environment. I have purchased many new vehicles in my life (other brands) owned some for over 5 years and never ever had this. Will never buy another Kia again if this is how they treat innocent customers.UPDATED with response from KiaHi Nicole,After reviewing the images provided, our national service team had determined that the cause of the obvious excessive corrosion on the vehicle is environmental.A new vehicle warranty is provided to allow for repairs to manufacturing defects and this issue is obviously not a manufacturing defect. We stand by our decision to decline to cover the cost of the required damage repairs on your vehicle.Kind regardsGregKia NZ

I have a Kia Sportage which has done 29k, the drivers seat is fraying. I took the car to Kia dealer, they contacted Kia in regards to warranty claim. Kia have said it is wear and tear, due to us getting in and out and will not accept the claim. This is a very poor service and response. Best not to get in and out of your car. I could understand if it had done 100k, but evenn so I have never had a car seat fray like that. First time I have bought a new car, so as not to have any problems. So will not be buying Kia again.

I have Kia SXL higher ranger been told by Kia sales team when i first went to shop around ITS very good one for family use, so i bought it. But it did works well for 2 years with very less use 19kz in 3years and know the faults are coming. Just cant believe i bought brand new vehicle just done so little Kilometers start up with issues.I took it for servicing in Botany Branch and same time they did servicing and calibrated BSD and it did works for 2 days and it POP up again and its so annoying permanent on main display panel.Just made a MISTAKE TO BUY KIA, spend nearly 70k and faults with so minimum use time frame. I bought Highlander last year never had any issues so far. And KIA service team are hopeless they don't communicate with there service department as they promise to me. I called 4 times to get this sorted even left voicemail to call back still no progress. Just lose hope with Kia. Will NEVER buy Kia again. They look pretty from outside but then after couple of years very headache Trucks.Hope people will read and learn from my tracking. Thanks...........

Have a 2019 Sportage thats done 35000km . 2 issues . Drivers seat fabric is fraying . Dealer says it is just wear and tear . This should not happen after 35000km and is not something I have experienced before on multiple vehicles driven , over 55 years .Second issue . The Electronic Park Brake has failed for the second time in 3 years since buying car new . After one month the dealership has no idea when the part will arrive . The WOF expired 3 weeks ago so cannot drive the car except to get rechecked which we cannot because no part . Very disappointed in Kia

Purchased a part ex overseas using original KIA part number off original part, after initially giving the dealer the registration number. Tried to return as did not fit vehicle. Turns out that KIA changes their own part number without informing their dealers, so dealer refuses to refund as it would not be accepted by KIA NZ. First time in 30 years in the trade have I found this. Closing my account with them as they seem to have no interest in trade relations.

Very dissapointed with our experience in owning a Kia. Our Kia had just gone over the 100,000km mark (It was also under 5 years old) when we had quite a major mechanical fault with it. You would think they would want to keep the reputation of their brand and would honor their warranty (we were literally at 103,000km! But they have decided not to! I would not expect to purchase a $50,000.00 car and have these sort of issues with it! We won't be buying another Kia again..

Our 2017 Kia Sorento's Sunroof cracked on 3 edges and shattered glass was on my wife and baby after we drove through a bumpy road just before Coroglen. Informed the service team the sunroof wasn't hit by any foreign object and damage was not in the radius/epic center pattern as usually seems when thing hit by an object. The service team wasn't keen to investigate or file a report. Instead they denial it is a warrant issue and ask to claim insurance. Left the vehicle with the dealership for 4 weeks now and no a single courtesy call to keep me update after they informed me the acceptance of insurance claim. Left few messages in the last 2 weeks and no reply either. One of the worst customer experience I ever had in the last 27 years in NZ.

Went to Kia Westgate to get valuation for my car as we looking to change. A schoolboy working there told me to go on TradeMe. !!!! The manager told this boy to tell me they don't do valuations. He could not be bothered to come and see me. We won't be buying a Kia.
