Brighton Beach House
This is a favorite Cafe for us. We visit at least once a week. The ambience is outstanding. It is a fabulous example of relaxed beach chill - friendly and welcoming to the locals, to visitors, to cyclists and runners, dogs, children and their parents!The garden is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two with choices about sitting in the sun or the shade, in a quiet corner for two or in a large group.The service is also excellent as the owners are nearly always there greeting guests and ensuring the service is both relaxed and professional. The food is also outstanding with an interesting choice of dishes which changes regularly.

Brighton Beach House
Ordered an ice coffee and lolly cake for morning tea. The lolly cake was covered in condensation droplets and the surface looked like rubber. When I attempted to blot it dry, it was actually really mushy. Without eating it, I asked the server the take it away because it looked gross. He laughed and took it away. No apology, replacement or refund was offered. Also, my ice coffee came without out cream because I ordered after my friend who had specified no cream on his. I made no such request and expected to get cream as usual.

Our total bill came to $76 dollars for two people. We ordered two coffees and two meals with one side for both. This seemed more expensive than other cafes in the area. When receiving the food we notice how small the portion size was and felt the quality was not worth the price tag. Coffees where okay, but there is better value in the area.

A lovely place to catch up with friends over lunch. Tried a Japanese Poke bowl. Very delicious and generous size. Other three at the table also enjoyed their meal choice.Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend.

The Vegan Toastie was so good!! The dairy free cheese was deliciously gooey and it had great seasoning overall. We also enjoyed the crispy Squid that came with a side of roasted garlic bulbs, yum!Great coffee, really like the small fudge that accompanied with my pot of English tea.The staff was fantastic, very welcoming and seemed like a fun group.The restaurant had a small playground, great for kids. And dog friendly with many different seating options.Sadly I'm not a local and only passing by. I will have to prioritise a visit the next time I'm back in Christchurch.

Absolutely fabulous- yummy brunch & yummy drinks! The customer service was wonderful. It’s also dog friendly which we just love .. eveytime we go there we are not disappointed.. so happy this is our local

A family member keeps telling me how amazing this place is and how lovely the new owners are! I popped in yo grab some lunch and was not disappointed! The staff are absolutely lovely and the food I got (Pies) literally were the best pies I have ever tasted, such Incredible flavours! Can't wait to come back again!

They served our group of 33 very well. It was a cold and wet winters day so sitting under the Marque was not pleasant. Would be lovely on a sunny day after a walk on the beach.

Very cold, no heating. Extremely expensive canned beer . Friendly staff. I regret that I cannot recommend this place as it stands.
