Excelso Coffee

This little cute hidden place made my day! It has a cool design, an outside area! I would love to spend more time here:) very good coffee and cool sparkling water

I am visiting Tauranga regularly in the last couple of months for work and the terrible espresso at my usual accomodation with the mediocre-at-best milk drink in the office did not make it very enjoyable. It's surprising how, erm, average the coffe is wherever I go, so I was so happy to find a speciality coffee place where the friendly staff knows about the things they sell. I had an Ethiopian brew (brewed in a Kalita for roughly the price of a random flat white, mind you) and I was very satisfied to see all the available information about the coffee I was drinking. Varietal, the growers name, region, tasting notes, all there as they should be - showing respect to the grower and the quality of the product. After two days of meh coffees the beautiful filter coffee I got was invigorating and rejuvenating and all in all a great experience. I am looking forward to go to Tauranga and visit Excelso again.Also it was great getting answers to my questions about the beans I was taking home to share the experience. Worth my five stars and no mistake.If you are after carefully sourced and roasted speciality coffee, brewed with pride, I strongly recommend a visit to Excelso, you won't regret it. I'm sure I didn't.

Review of online services: I live in chch and decided to buy a coffee travel mug. These guys were the best price online for the one that I wanted, undercutting other stores rather considerably which made me a little skeptical. But I thought I'd give them a go and am so happy I did. Order arrived perfect at my house within 24 hours of placing the order. Super fast transparent service. Would definitely recommend Excelso. Cute little place. All about the coffee. Genuine business for genuine life-lovers. Not cheap. But Made with care, done with love, and sold with good service.

A nice hidden gem. Some special local roasted coffe on offer, single origin as well as blended. The coffees we had where very nice. They also have all equipment you meed to make your own perfect coffee. Very high quality standard equipment. They had some sweets available as well. I like their no waste approach.

My favourite coffee in Tauranga… thus far. Their beans do well in a home espresso also but more expensive than the “dude in Matapihi”.

Came here based on reviews and was not disappointed! 2 large flat whites to go... After a 15min drive coffees were still very warm so temp just right upon making! And goooooooooood coffee! A must place to visit if you are a coffee freak and visiting the area!
