Great place to get patched up. Staff are always doing the absolute best they can. Props to 'em

Went at the middle of night to the ED as my pain was so bad after 30 min, I was the only patient their, receptionist told me I am the first and last patient for now but I was just sitting there for 3 hours, they just gave me ibuprofen which didn't help me in the beginning and left unattended for 3 hours almost. There is no other place to go to in Wellington at midnight for emergency and this place just leave you in pain. I JUST WALKED OUT WITHOUT BEING TREATED.

It was Amazing my Dad had 2 incredible Nurses, Paris and Nikita. They we so Nice and Happy. So funny made us laugh and were really helping towards not only us but everyone in the neurology department

I understand that hospitals are severely understaffed at the moment and I appreciate doctors and nurses for all they do, however i’ve had some sub par experiences at this hospital.I overdosed in an attempt to kill myself when i was 14 and while being treated, the nurses and doctors were amazing and super nice. a mental health team saw me before i was allowed to be released. they made me feel like a complete burden, implying that i was taking up resources and time that could be spent on other patients.they showed no compassion or empathy towards me, i felt like i was wasting their time. after i was discharged it took months to find a psychologist, despite me being suicidal. (i don’t blame the hospital, this is more directed towards the mental health system)i also have had to get blood work done which has been managed by the children’s hospital. they would send a referral to a local blood clinic for what i needed to be tested for. however, i never got this done because the first time i showed up, the hospital hadn’t sent the referral through. so my mum emailed them to let them know they hadn’t sent it through. they assured us they would send through the referral. we went back a second time, no referral. my mum phoned and emailed them multiple times, trying to ensure they sent through the referral. We tried a third and fourth time and then we simply gave up. so much effort for something so simple

I have been here 4-5 times in the last 2 months and while staff has always been friendly and kind, the waiting time is absolutely awful. Every time I have consistently waited 2+ hours to be seen. When I go, I put aside half a day for it because I know I will be waiting forever.Today I waited 2.5 hours to be seen for 2 minutes to inspect my surgery wound. If you can, go to Bowen Hospital, not this one or come prepared with things to do. Otherwise will be wasting so much time. I could have watched an entire movie during my waiting time.

Been at Wellington Hospital since 11.30pm Friday 31st March, its now 6.15am Saturday 1st April and we still have not seen a doctor. If I had of gone to Lower Hutt we would have been seen by now, this is so bad

Great hospital, staff are amazing. Very happy and grateful for everything that they do.

Staff are very overworked in ICU . It's concerning the lack of nurses and doctors have just left . The cardiology area is depressing the decor and the toilets filthy . Our health care is like 3rd world country . The people working here deserve better I've seen and heard it all as a patient . Look into why they are leaving .

This has to be one of the best hospitals in NZ. I stayed here a year or so ago. Great staff and awesome food. Thanks very much for looking after me. Dan
