Employed Gemma to design kitchen on a farm cottage we own and she did a great job as we wanted a practical and no frills kitchen, also the price had to be reasonable. She also had to organise the laundry and bathroom which we are very happy with as well.

If you’re wanting to work with a company that offers a generous lack of communication, a high volume of sub-par workmanship, minimal accountability and extensive timeframes, Fluid Interiors is the place to go.Initially, they’ll lull you into a false sense of security, giving the impression that they work quickly and efficiently, priding themselves on open and swift communication, and offer well-thought out and innovative solutions. Until you pay your deposit. That’s when the downward spiral starts.We were introduced to Fluid Interiors in pre-Covid 2020, by our builders, Signature Homes North Shore, who worked in partnership with Fluid. Our initial experience was positive – the design was beautiful, their ideas were clever, and we were excited about the final product.Cabinetry was delivered and the early stages of installation began in December 2020. This was when the cracks started to appear. Two days before Christmas at 3pm, our designer called to say our chosen benchtop stone could not be supplied in a full 3.3m piece. Her solution was to have the stone installed in two pieces with a clear seam in the middle. Unacceptable, obviously. It was suggested I visit their office that afternoon to discuss options. Also unacceptable. Following a visit to me at 5pm that day, a solution was found – and the admission made that she had known of this issue for 3 months but had forgotten to raise it.January 2021 came and went with no complete installation and no communication from Fluid as to a timeline. All our calls went unanswered, messages not returned. It was literally impossible to speak to anyone from Fluid who was involved in our project. It wasn’t until March 2021 that installation finally began in earnest.More metaphorical cracks. The lack of care started to show. A shelf was spray-painted black in-situ, with overflow spray hitting surrounding white cabinetry. Laminate floors were damaged and needed replacing. Cutting of timber was undertaken outside, staining our new tiles. Whiteware forced into place damaged plugs and power outlets. Security tape not removed from the integrated fridge and freezer before installation, left irremovable blue tape in both appliances. Beveled framing was uneven, leaving noticeable gaps. Walls were dented and scratched. Cupboards were obviously asymmetrical. The list was extensive.Perhaps the biggest blunder and proof of Fluid’s arrogance and incompetence was the splashback sliders. A clever feature, where the splash backs were upward sliding cupboards revealing shelving behind. We discovered during a visit to our build that without our knowledge or consent, Fluid had opted to upgrade our sliders to electric, operating by switch only. A clever idea in theory, but in practice the operation was slow, noisy, and riddled with potential complications.Despite their many assurances, our knowledge of Fluid’s practices to this point meant that our trust had depleted, and we insisted on the sliders being reverted back to manual operation. The work that ensued was nothing short of amateur and a complete dog’s breakfast.It wasn’t until the end of July 2021 – eight months since starting – that we had a complete, fully installed kitchen and laundry. However, many of the issues we raised (as mentioned above) remain unresolved. As it turns out, Fluid Interiors is the type of business that would forfeit a withheld (not insignificant) payment than take accountability for and resolve its monumental errors.So, here we are today, with asymmetrical kitchen cabinets, still stained outdoor tiles, irritatingly irremovable blue tape inside our fridge and freezer, and the company responsible MIA. Don’t say you haven’t been warned. Engage at your own risk.

Fluid Interiors did an amazing job on our new build! They were extremely professional and amazing quality- I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone- we will definitely use them again!

Fluid interiors did a fabulous job of our outdoor kitchen and garage bench/storage area. We found Gemma really easy to work with during the design process (if which she did an outstanding job) and the installation team also did a great job. We had absolutely no problems at all including with the after sales service when we needed a few tweaks to be done and would highly recommend.

We used Fluid Interiors for our new home in Russell. Gemma designed us a kitchen that works perfectly for us. The quality, price was great and any issues were resolved without a hassle. The boys installing were great and the bench top contractor was also fantastic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fluid to anyone. Well done team
