Beautiful, surreal space tucked away in sunny Featherston. Great craft beer and wine selection, or be local with a pint of Tui. Sumptuous menu is delicious too. Just absolutely incredible job done here, inside and out. Still a few teething problems with the software/service but just small hiccups really in the face of such a beautiful location. Recommended for quiet drinks, meals, weddings, special dates etc

The fish n chip meal on Friday nights is always amazing. Beautifully cooked fresh fish. Compliments to the chef. She’s worth her wait in gold. ❤️

It's not often that you find an old school pub that has such good value while being meticulously clean and well looked after.Fresh paint on the outside and bright clean rooms for guests at very reasonable rates. Across the road is the Railway Station to Masterson and Wellington. Opposite are the Sports grounds. An evening walk in this quiet part of Featherstone is lovely. The host is welcoming and both helpful and friendly.I usually stay in Wellington but the hassle of parking safely ( motorcycle ) and lugging gear to the 11th floor plus (even w elevator) is a pain. The climate is better in Wairarapa and a ride over the Rimutakas come morning is no big deal.Come and stay here at the Empire Hotel.Highly recommended for those on a budget. Be pleasantly surprised.

We live in featherston and were excited to have new owners. However, if u r only offering deep fried food, can u not perfect it so that it is cooked in the middle? Under cooked seafood is dangerous.Also, to be greeted at the front door by a drunk young girl repeatedly using the wouldC@##, while drinking in the street, puts fearherstons reputation back 20 years

Pretty unhappy with the Chicken burger that I had last night. It and the chips were cold as my order had somehow had been lost and I was given a burger that a member of staff had ordered.

Menu was all deep fried, although was nice and freshly cooked. Perhaps it was because it was a public holiday? Hidden away off the main street, hard to find, lacking in sign posts but staff was nice and welcoming.
