Heritage Hotel in the heart of Auckland's Queen street within easy walking distance to restaurants & the Harbour. Room was good, bed very comfortable as I got upgraded and the staff very pleasant. Unlike other reviews no noise from the nightclub but I didn't stay on a weekend. Unfortunately house keeping forgot to clean my room one day.The downside for me was that the dinner I had in the hotel restaurant (Cookes) was one of the worst I have had in a Sofitel. The prawn and squid ink pasta was close to being undercooked and was very small for the price. The entree tuna cevichi was over done with vinegar which spoilt the dish . It seemed like the chef was not very experienced and the service was disjointed. I would not eat here again. The breakfasts were good. The spa bath is a nice touch and they also have a very small gym. One elevator was out of service for the best part of 2 days but overall a nice hotel that could even be better.

Amazing location - walking distance to the harbour and so many drink and food locations nearby. Tea and brownie on arrival was a nice touch. Room wasn’t available for 30 minutes so a drinks voucher was provided — another nice gesture. Room was lovely, well decorated and spacious. Only little detail was the menu in the room book was out of date with items no longer get available and the special T2 tea mentioned on the website has been replaced with Dilmah tea bags - small thing, but makes a difference if you’ve seen it mentioned and it’s looked forward to. Jacuzzi booking was great, tiles were coming off the bottom and had been placed around the edge by previous users do a bit of maintenance needed. Valet parking was confusing, no space outside so instructed to park around the corner in a 5 minute loading zone. No urgency to collect our vehicle to the point we prompted the staff to please move it to avoid a ticket. Confusion on check out with the vehicle, with the staff member who checked us out telling us the concierge would come tell us when our car was available, but after 10 minutes we approached the concierge to ask where our vehicle was and it had been waiting for us - little bit of internal communication between the concierge and reception would have made a big difference. Note there is an extra service fee for any room service.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, I wish I could give it 5 stars but the thumping noise from the nightclubs below makes sleep impossible - even on the top floor, where I was! so it's a hopeless place to stay. Added to which the big problem with homeless people camping out side the front door of the hotel makes it feel really unsafe.Such a shame for the hotel, but these are serious problems for guests.

We were only here for one night and didn’t really get to try any of the facilities or restaurants, but a good experience overall. We arrived on a late flight around 2 am on a Friday night/Saturday morning. Had to buzz to be let in = good security. Our room was spacious and nicely laid out, with a lovely big bathroom.Bed was possibly one of the comfiest I have ever slept on.It was very noisy, being a Friday night. Even with windows firmly shut could hear the noise, but we were so tired that it didn’t really bother us.Location is great, super comfy beds, hotel decor is lovely

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with walking distance to shops restaurants harbours and parks. The room we had booked was nice and comfortable. We were concerned after having read lots of reviews complaining about the noise from the club which is directly under the hotel. I woke up at night for some water and it was quite noisy (a Wednesday) though was able to get back to sleep quick enough. Wife is a lighter sleeper but slept through it so I can't comment really. We were there two nights and the second night we slept through without problem. It might depend where your room is etc. You are downtown in the city after all. There's a private jacuzzi you can rent which is great. The staff were also very friendly.

Stay away. We could not believe our experience for what is supposedly five star". We returned to find our securely stored luggage had disappeared - I'm a frequent traveller and mistakes happen so waited for it to be resolved. The luggage hadn't been misplaced

Leo at Fable Hotel provided us with amazing service! From the moment we arrived, he greeted us warmly and went out of his way to make our stay incredible. His attention to detail and genuine care exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Leo's exceptional service, we will definitely book this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Never again! The noise from the adjacent night club kept us awake until 3am Wednesday night and 4am Friday night. And we’d splashed out on a suite. The response from the front of house staff was very poor. Their initial response was to offer us a free breakfast! Eventually we got moved to a somewhat quieter room and received one night free but only after prolonged negotiations. So spend your money elsewhere. Anywhere.

We stayed at Fable for 2 nights. It is a good location right on the main shopping street, Queen Street, nearby many luxury shops and dining options. The reception and restaurant area is very modern and has a luxurious feel, however this is where it stops. Once we went up to the room I felt like we were in a typical tiny hotel room in Paris or New York, not in Auckland. The bed is small queen bed with space for only one bedside table. We had to navigate around our suitcases on the floor to get to the bathroom. The room interior looks great, but the size is a real letdown. I am unsure how this is rated 5 star when there are many features not available....no desk, no parking (aside from an overpriced valet service)....not even a chair in the room to sit down.Unfortunately I won't look to stay at Fable for my next visit. Please adjust your star rating to be s 3 or 4 star at the most. Perhaps 5 star interiors but definitely not s 5 star hotel.
