ANZAC War Memorial / Cenotaph

Loved it!

A smallish memorial just outside of town. It is located inside memorial square. There are pathways to lead tot he memorial from the road so you don't have to walk over grass and mud to see it up close.

Memorial Square is a small public space located across from Clive Square in the town centre. Here you can find a simple square featuring the local Cenotaph Memorial, dedicated to the brave soldiers who lost their lives during WWI.This square was built in 1921 for the purpose of hosting the Cenotaph Monument. You can find some nice palm trees lining the small square. These were supposedly planted here in the 1920s and are nice to see. At the back of the square is the Memorial Community Room, which is used by the public for local meetings and affairs.Overall, Memorial Square is a nice but small square in the town centre. It can be conveniently seen alongside with a visit to the nearby Clive Square by those walking the streets of Napier to view the historic buildings in the area.

ANZAC war memorial is the place you should come when visiting this town. The statue is surrounded by tens of palm trees. You can walk around and take some pictures. Then look for pubs around you.
