Embassy of France

One of the worst diplomatic service in the World we have experienced. As a French citizen, I have been trying to contact the consular service on the main number listed 03 384 2555 for months and at least several times daily and 3 to 4 times a week. Understanding that French people only work 35 hours/ week is one thing but if you are lucky enough to call during working hours of the morning, either you get a disconnected tone, or the line hang up as soon as you get a tone, or the phone simply does not answer at all. In the best case scenario, you will get an answering message, but you cannot actually leave a message. Your option is to call the emergency mobile number but they would not be happy if this is not an actual emergency.

Had a wonderful experience with the embassy attache and their security. They were extremely delightful and accommodating, our family felt very welcome and at ease with the entire process. Merci beaucoup!

despite the reviews for this embassy, i had a positive experience. the customer service is good, the people are nice and helpful, including the security guard . just make sure u have all the required documents for your visa, check the wellington embassy website and also check the required document list on ur application form. my visa came in like 7 days, which is insane. big up to the french embassy. merci beaucoup

No one answer the phone nor reply the email. Tried thousands of times. I’ve have to postpone my trip once, and the twice is coming without any reachable help from online nor by phone

This is the first time I called an embassy and without being on hold or waiting for so long, I talked to a person and she was very nice, friendly and helpful.I’m so grateful.Thank you :)

I never put a bad review, but I think I should so other people could save their time. We had an appointment for a schengen visa application on September (for travelling on December as it was mentioned we can only applied 3 months before our departure). We got in today and only to get told off that they are so busy and couldn’t guarantee that they will be able to process our visa application on time or up to 1 week before our departure. I got several issues here (1. If you are busy why bother accepting the online appointment? 2. Why bother putting “up to” in the estimated time if you could not “honour” it? Knowing that we could have booked it earlier or gone to other european embassy instead. 3. Please hire someone who has “professional” manner on reception, as you are representing your own country here and surely this is common sense and I guess common sense is no longer common). At the end we got advised to go to Italian embassy to process our schengen visa. What a waste of time, I could rate zero if I could. (Update: Sent the Visa Application to Italian embassy, straight away the next day got called for finger prints appointment.)

I have travelled to most countries in the world and I have never spoken to a more ignorant rude person, the lady who answers the phone at the French Embassy in Wellington. She spoke so fast I could not understand her, she would not stop, she gave wrong information, she would not listen to me when I queried her so I could understand how to negotiate the French Embassy website. She was the most arrogant and rude person I have ever spoken to in any business and I am 62 years old. She was rude, she would not stop speaking to let me explain. I am a film maker and should have recorded her absolute rudeness and put it up on You Tube ... maybe next time I will do that. If there is a next time, the purpose of my call was to get information about a Tourist Visa to New Caledonia .. after the unbelievable rudeness from this lady we have cancelled our plans top New Caledonia.

Does anyone even work here? Does this place actually exist? Spent days on hold, sent emails, contacted them via Facebook, and still have not received one response from an actual person or any help whatsoever. Absolute joke of a place.
