EZU Car Rental -Queenstown

Warning!!!Pls read b4 bookingRent Toyota Alphard for $114 per day On arrival vehicle stinks and looks very dirty so leave us with no choice but to upgradeLast min upgrade cost sky rocketed.Normally newer Alphard going at $180 per day but we have to pay $283On day of return, there was some minor scratch on our Alphard. We ended up paying $966 repair cost for a minor scratch.We will highly recommend you to stay away

Absolutely the worst car rental place EVER. Internal windscreen had a film of stuff all over. No fog lights, at later inspection off was fog lights, fog lights were off, Extremely dangerous when driving through the worst fog ever and we had full beam and off. When I showed the guy when we returned vehicle he knew he was in the wrong, NO APOLOGY, he tried his best to get us on the chip in windscreen and crack in lower windscreen,. But we had photo proof. The car stunk like an ex smokers vehicle. 3rd rental cars in a few days due to flight changes and driving cross country. Which were luxurious comared. The other 2 were snap rentals- brilliant. And budget cars - Briliant.. car was dirty inside, and told we had to clean it inside and out before returning also had to pay $1000

Pick up from airport was seamless and on time. The GPS we booked was not available when we collected the car which was disappointing because we booked 4 months in advance. The vehicle was okay. It was what we ordered but not in great condition with some panels hanging off. We made sure to take PLENTY of photos before we drove out of the yard. Returning the car was simple and they dropped us back to the airport quickly.

Cheap if you book on the right day.I booked 6 weeks out, & rechecked 2 weeks out & so much cheaper (so canceled original & no penalty as canceled more than 7 days out).Cheap rental $123 for 5 days. Car cheap japanese import to match $.Car still japanese radio language, no reversing camera. Used phone (Google maps) for nav & that worked out fine.

Very poor car rental - go somewhere else. The reception/office was very poor with multiple signs on the front door saying we're closed" and that they had no staff so we had to check into the rental car ourselves despite arriving to the office at the time that was agreed upon in the contract. We stood at the front of the small box of an office/reception trying to figure out the online forms for 10 minutes before a staff member arrived. They were not very friendly

Unfortunately our experience with Ezu was not good. We would not recommend using them. They are probably the cheapest, but the cost saving was really was not worth the stress and time it took us to manage the problems we had.Problems encountered:1. They gave us a van with a chipped windscreen. This chip developed into a crack on the first day. They wanted to charge us the full $1,000 excess, saying it was our fault that the chip developed into a crack. We had to get the insurance personnel to argue for us to stop them from charging us. We got another van, with no chipped windscreen.2. The car battery was flat on the last day. They did come out and gave us a replacement car, but it was a bit of a stress.3. When dealing with their front counter about both the above items, they were quite aggressive always pointing out the extra charges that they wanted to charge. Which only causes more stress to an already stressful situation.After getting the replacement car from Ezu, we rented another, more capable all wheel drive car from Sixt, and this was a completely different experience. Friendly staff, new car, and it didn't cost that much extra. Zero stress with Sixt, lots of stress with Ezu.Additional advice. Don't get a van if you are driving up mountains and it is freezing. They handle terribly, and if icy, they are dangerous. Some ski field don't allow them up their roads at times.

Worst car rental company we have ever used! The car had not been cleaned when we picked it up, upon realising we mentioned it to the staff, their reply was 'we get busy sometimes & things get missed, we'll clean it when you drop it off'! Ah thats no good to us!Still waiting for our deposit refund. Nil response to any enquiries regarding this ! Would not recommend this company at all!

Excellent pick up from airport, picked up all 7 passengers and took us to collect our vehicle from depot which was like a 5 min drive from airport. Friendly welcome into office, quick fill of forms and payment was exactly as advertised with my online booking, no hidden fees. As long as you tick the right options when booking. On return of vehicle, make sure your drop off vehicle well before you need to be at airport especially if you need them to drop you off. They dropped us all off at the airport in time for our flights. I would use them again, as long as they keep up the good customer service. Thank you ezu cars queenstown you made my 1st time hiring a vehicle a good experience. Much appreciated.

Friendly, quick service, good quality clean vehicles. Staff friendly but note there is a slight language barrier. The service is very simple and quick. Two drawbacks:1) the baby car seat was not OK for our 1 year old, but we were refunded and directed to Tots on Tour. They are great!2) their site is 3 mins from the airport but they have a great shuttle service

Not a decent car rental service provider. I've spent a lot of time upload my ID scans and make everything ready online, but the staff still required physical IDs to scan, which made nothing easier. The worst thing is that there is no refund when I return earlier than planned. I originally booked 2 weeks 14 days in NZ, and I paid in full for more than $2200. However due to some family issue, I have to return early by only staying in NZ for 7 days. I email ntice the EZU in 3 days advance that I will return the car earlier, but I just got a very rude repy said Sorry
